Re: Top players in the PVC

Prayers to the Archer family.....Sherri Archer passed away this weekend, opposing players and coaches would know her as being the lady who fed the teams after every boys basketball game at Caldwell. She died from complications of a sudden illness. She operated the Archwood restaurant in Caldwell. Sh...

Re: Top players in the PVC

The Shenandoah coach was telling everyone that at the Caldwell shoot out. One of our kids called him and he said that is not true, that people have been saying that since he was a freshman.

Re: Top players in the PVC

They may not, that is a tough task with a competitive league. River literally lost no players from a team that took Fort to the wire in the de facto league title game at the end of last season. Fort returns it's best player and best defender but are weaker in at least two of the other three spots. Y...

Re: Top players in the PVC

Trail won't be as good as last year. They are poorly coached so the three guards they have, while nice, won't improve much if any from last year. They won't have the muscle under the bucket they had and that will hurt them. I see them finishing 3rd-5th somewhere and no better then a sectional title....

Re: Shenandoah @ Frontier Week 1 (PVC Football)

While Frontier does have most back and Shenandoah lost a lot, the zeps best players are back and honestly Frontier was getting beat 70-12 week in and week out so I'm not sure that will translate to much more then closer losses for the Cougars this year.

Re: Top players in the PVC

You are right, they work hard. They have an established program that has been in place for 30 some odd years. There is new leadership and they will be very good this year and competitive next but there is a reason Liedtke finally decided to get out. The talent simply is not the same. Your incoming f...

Re: Top players in the PVC

JV means nothing, how many juniors and sophomores did the Fort play on last years reserve team? We played only freshmen and they got better all year. They have developed, much more upside then the older kids, more time to get better. Kids like Harding who played out of position on the point last yea...

Re: Top players in the PVC

River and Fort Frye will battle it out at the top this year. River returns all an in my opinion is the slight favorite but Fort will be solid as well. Plain and simple outside of Smith and Lang Fort isn't very talented, Lagrean is average and the others aren't skilled. They are super well coached an...

Ohio University Team Camp

The Ohio team camp is this weekend. What area teams will be making the trip to play in the convocation center and the ping center? I know out of the P.V.C. both Caldwell an Shenandoah will be going. Coach said his brother was taking West M down there too. Hope I get to catch a few games when I pick ...

Re: Caldwell Redskins Varsity Boys Shoot Out

I agree that River is very good and along with Fort Frye will be the team to beat in the P.V.C. this season. I think Caldwell will compete with Trail an Shenandoah for the third slot and then the next three years will belong to the Redskins. The sophomore post you are talking about is Tanner Baker, ...

Re: Caldwell Redskins Varsity Boys Shoot Out

Zeps had Nuehart, Hurst, Farnsworth, Bond, and some big I didn't recognize. Had another muscular kid with a knee brace so pretty much their rotation was there. River has a nice group, gonna be a good team. Caldwell played very well at times, they are so young but very talented. These kids have put i...

Re: Top players in the PVC

I liked Lafferre last winter and Nixon is very athletic. Nixon struggles with the skill aspect though. Central does have a nice core of young athletes coming in. Was told they got it put on them by West Muskingum in a shoot out recently. Not sure if West is supposed to be very good, Caldwell scrimma...

Re: Marietta College shootout

Caldwell will not be back in Marietta next weekend. They played pretty well for being so young. Won a few games, only team they couldn't compete with was Centenial which was the case for pretty much everyone down there. Cool that Fort gave them a game in the shortened championship game, I believe in...

Re: Top players in the PVC

For my money there are three players that are on the same level in the league, those being Smith, Price, Wiechman. Smith is smart, plays in a great system and can shoot the eyes out of it. Price is long, a difficult match up because he can play inside and out and a understands when his team needs hi...

Re: Top players in the PVC

For my money I would say that C.J. Bever is Trail's best basketball player. Starr is a lights out shooter on the wing. I think Roe is their slashing style player, but he really isn't a very good shooter and can't use his right hand. I thought the Laffre kid from Central was a good player.

Re: Caldwell Redskins Varsity Boys Shoot Out

Our group will be really young, but they are talented. I expect them to play very fast this year. They can pretty much all handle and shoot it. The only thing they lack is size, outside of Baker, and experience. Should be fun to watch and a team nobody will want in the tournament. As for coach, I'd ...

more to the southeast but in the Pioneer Valley River will be outstanding, they return the entire team from a 15 win team a year ago as they were all juniors. Caldwell should also be very competitive and one of the youngest teams anywhere around with two juniors, four sophomores, and two freshmen ma...

How many kids are expected at this? Surprised to see the boys and girls combining camp but at a small school I guess it makes sense.

Re: Caldwell Redskins Varsity Boys Shoot Out

Cant wait to get my summer basketball fix. Looks like a good day of basketball. I will probably go watch the boys in the Marietta College shoot out on the third and hopefully get to a catch a few games at camp assuming I am one of the parents who helps drive the kids to OU.
