Re: Pioneer Valley All-League Awards

The league was a lot better then most expected this year with only Central/Frontier not being able to really compete for the most part. Next year it should be even better as a whole and yes there is talent coming. Fort: Smith/Lang/Anderson will make a great back court. The Lagrean kid is going to be...

Re: Pioneer Valley All-League Awards

1st team: Smith-Fort Frye-easily player of the year, impressive player Price-River-really nice guard on a very good team Wiechman-Caldwell-kid has carried them and kept them in pretty much every game this year, avg nearly 20 a game as a sophomore. Hurst-Shenandoah-can heat up in a hurry but has shot...

Re: Caldwell(7-13) vs Beallsville (18-2) 2-22 @ UL

Game tonight. First meeting was very entertaining game all the way back in game two. If I remember correctly game was tied at end of every quarter, kid hit two big jumpers for Beallsville in last two minutes and they won something like 65-56 or something. I heard that boy is out with an injury, can'...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf Updates

Caldwell beat St. Johns 77-40. Score was 27-2 four minutes in and the starters were pulled for the game after playing only six minutes and leading 33-5. The freshmen and sophomores played the rest of the night. Curious as to who St. Johns has beaten? They have won two games and they are pretty awful...

Re: Waterford (9-5) @ Fort Frye (11-3) Feb 4th

I used to feel the same way until earlier this year. When Fort played @ Caldwell earlier in the year Caldwell wasn't playing well and trailed by around 15 going in to the fourth quarter. Our coach sat his starters and played a sophomore and four freshmen the entire fourth quarter. Lietdke had played...

St. Johns 2-15 Looked at Bport and Shadysides schedules, based on results against their remaining opponents from ...

Re: Caldwell (5-9) @ Fort Frye (10-3) Jan 31

First half was very competitive. It appeared Caldwell's strategy was to take away Fort's three scorers and make the other two (Lang and whomever was playing the other spot) beat them. It worked to perfection in the first half with the score tied up at 16. Like all good teams Fort came out firing on ...

Re: Fort Frye @ River Jan 24

agree 100%......River really surprised me this year, they have a really nice group, two outstanding shooters and two nice post players. Fort is fort, great guard play and defensive understanding. I wasn't sure about River until the other night, watched Caldwell play as good as they could and River s...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf Updates

River 57
Caldwell 49

Was a fun game to watch, both teams played very well and shot the ball well. River just had a little to much talent for Caldwell. I am just happy to see the boys playing well the past few weeks. They have made some nice adjustments and are getting better which is nice to see.

Re: Fort Frye @ River Jan 24

River is a very nice team, good bigs and shooters. Caldwell played very well against them tonight, just didn't have the guns. Game was 26 all at half, River hit some big shots down the stretch. Assume Smith will have a big night as River struggled defending Weichman off the bounce tonight. Good luck...

Re: DIV Eastern District @ Union Local

Anyone from any of these schools please post remaining schedules and record against opponents within the sectional. I know Caldwell has defeated Frontier twice by around 20 points, lost a bucket game to Barnesville early in the year, lost a ten point game to Beallsville that they were tied going in ...

DIV Eastern District @ Union Local

Teams: how I see them, two teams get out of this sectional to the Meadowbrook district. 1. Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans 8-3 (losses to New Philly on buzzer beater, Claymont at the horn, and Pick Central who is #3 in Division one, quality wins over Dover, Coshocton, Marrietta) 2. Beallsville 11-1 (onl...

Re: Caldwell @ Fort Frye 8-3 (6-1) Jan13

Caldwell/Newcomerstown was a great game. Caldwell threw the inbound away underneath Newcomerstown bucket with 2.5 seconds to go in a tie game. Caldwell lost a kid on inbound play and gave up a bucket at the horn, final was 45-43. Caldwell played very well but the Sawyer and Abrams kids combined to m...

Re: Caldwell @ Shenandoah (Dec. 27th)

This game was 25-24 with a minute left in third qtr, Croucher picks up a foul and goes to the bench then Leasure and Hurst hit NBA length threes, a turnover for a layup the other way by Svercek and it's a 9 point game going in to the fourth. Svercek opens the fourth with three consecutive unforced t...

Re: Fort Frye 3-1 @ Caldwell 1-4

Wiechman will be fine. Caldwell has chemistry issues, the older kids won't play because of the younger kids from what I've been told. Based on the word out of practice tonight, the coach decided to only play the older players and weich on varsity the rest of the way and is leaving the frosh all down...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf As Of Dec 14

The Tanner Clark kid is outstanding, he is better then any of our freshmen right now (including my son). Heller kid is a nice player too. I think you will start seeing this years group of freshmen start to see some more time, they played an entire half against st. Johns Saturday (i know they are ter...

Re: Fort Frye 3-1 @ Caldwell 1-4

Caldwell is not bad, they played the freshmen two full qtrs today against a god awful St. Johns team and still won by 30. They didn't play against River at all and were still within ten in the fourth, and they gave zero effort. They aren't bad, not good but will get better. In reality, I really don'...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf As Of Dec 14

1. Fort Frye-most felt they would be here
2. Trail-For now they get this post, not sold though
3. Tie-Shenandoah/River/Caldwell-Along with trail these three are on even footing, very evenly matched.
6. Central
7. Frontier

Re: River (2-1) @ Caldwell (1-4) Dec 16

They lost a tight game to Beallsville, who along with Fort will be the best team on their schedule. Lost one to a Barnesville team they are clearly better then, just didn't make shots playing the second of a back to back after a tough one the night before and still had the chance to win at the end. ...

Re: River (2-1) @ Caldwell (1-4) Dec 16

I think you could add central to the bottom conversation with Frontier, which to me is sad because they have talent. At least coach Kirkpatrick has a reason his team isn't good, they have little talent. Central should be a competitive team this winter and they are not at this point. As for this game...
