Re: Buckeye Trail (2-1) @ Caldwell (1-2) Dec 13

Caldwell led this game until three minutes to go despite being completely hosed by Scott Jerels officiating. I was a few rows behind the bench and actually heard him tell our coach that the defender doesn't have to be set to take a charge, wasn't even close, total joke. Foul total was 24-5 in favor ...

Re: River Pilots @ Fort Frye (2-0)

river will demolish caldwelll friday, redskinwitness your dumb as hell Coming from a guy who can't spell chicken correctly I should probably feel bad :) Mr. Hawk, you seem to get angry when someone puts a fact on here. Patterson and Larrick from Trail are both proven varsity players and Fort Frye s...

Re: River Pilots @ Fort Frye (2-0)

Curious, what three teams? I would say he would be Frontiers best player, he is similar to a few River guards. He is similar to a few of Shenandoah's guards, on the same level as Baker/Wise from Central. He isn't quite is good as a few Trail players, and he isn't as good as Wiechman from Caldwell. I...

Re: River Pilots @ Fort Frye (2-0)

I would say Patterson and Larrick from Trail are both better then those two you listed chickadee :) The Fort handled them pretty easily. You shouldn't get your confidence to high based on beating a horrible Frontier team by 12 and then getting a surprising win over a Central team with a ton of issue...

Re: Barnesville (0-2) @ Caldwell (1-1) Dec 10

I understand that but I think just buying an extra minutes rest here and there would be a good idea most nights. Playing in close, intense games and only playing five (two other boys get around 2 minutes a game) is tough. Kids run out of gas. And honestly, outside of the carpenter boy, the other sop...

Re: Buckeye Trail (2-1) @ Caldwell (1-2) Dec 13

Agree 100%.....Caldwell lost to a very good Beallsville team in a great game Friday and just ran out of gas and shot horribly against Barnesville in a 3 point loss Saturday. Paper had them at 2/20 from three, Barnesville coach must have known something nobody else did, he didn't even have his boys g...

Re: Shenandoah(2-0) @ Monroe Central (0-2) Dec 13

Farnsworth is a part time varsity player. Neuhart is a very nice point and Hurst is a streaky shooter who if on can really do some damage. They also have some nice role players. Interested to see how they perform away from their home court. I know Shadyside is pretty down this year, thought that wou...

Re: Beallsville @ Caldwell 12-9-11

This was a game between two very nice ball clubs. I came away impressed with Beallsville. They have length, guard play and depth. Caldwell got a big night from Weichman and Sawyer to stay in the game until the final minutes. This game was intense and fun to watch. Caldwell needs some bench though. H...

Re: Barnesville (0-2) @ Caldwell (1-1) Dec 10

Caldwell came out flat....expected this after playing an intense ball game against a very good team the night before. Back and forth game but Caldwell ran out of gas in the last minute. Barnesville won 56-53. Caldwell shot the ball horribly. The one bright spot was point weichman who had around 20 a...

Re: Pioneer Valley Offseason BUZZ

They don't mean anything at all but when is the last time Caldwell won against central? or won an opener? They looked pretty good last weekend, lets see how consistent they are. Believe right now Trail 2-0 both non-league wins Doah' 1-0 non-league Caldwell 1-0 PVC Fort 1-0 non-league River 1-0 PVC C...

Re: River vs Monroe Central

Is this game at Central? Still don't see River winning. They have only beaten the leagues most inferior team and it wasn't in impressive fashion. Central has some big athletic guys with experience off of last years team. I would guess they won't be really happy after the butt kicking they took in th...

Caldwell won't win a game in the P.V.C. they are sad.....hopefully they have a sadder team in the non-league that they can get one against.

Re: Beallsville @ Caldwell 12-9-11

Caldwell beat Beallsville by 20 @ Caldwell. They led @ Beallsville by over 20 in the second half and lost in one of those strange games that tend to happen in that dungeon. From the sounds of it both teams are pretty good this year, sounds like it will be a good one.

Re: River vs Monroe Central

River isn't talented enough to beat central, IMO. River and Frontier played the cellar dweller game this past weekend. I am taking Central by 15.

Re: Monroe Central @ Caldwell 12-2 Opener

Great win for the boys to start, they showed great effort. I have seen them play better though. Like someone above stated, they left several points off the board missing foul shots and a few layups. I can see them scoring a lot of points this year. If they can force turnovers and keep the pace fast ...

Re: Monroe Central @ Caldwell 12-2 Opener

excited to see the boys play a real game. This fall flew by, hard to believe we are here already. I expect a really competitive game tonight. I feel like Central has more horses but it will come down to who executes the best and doesn't let their nerves get the best of them. If Caldwell avoids a slo...

Re: Monroe Central @ Caldwell 12-2 Opener

Virgil :) you are correct, I do have a son that is now a part of the high school program at Caldwell which I stated. As for supporting the program.....of course we are going to. This program was as low as low gets two years ago and we are excited about our coach and our future. I am realistic, I kno...

Re: Monroe Central @ Caldwell 12-2 Opener

But you haven't seen them since last year. They are not the same kids, they actually have someone teaching them that knows what the hell he is doing rather than the incompetent sad excuses for coaches they've had in the past. These boys actually understand the game and have developed skills, he will...

Re: Monroe Central @ Caldwell 12-2 Opener

He played mostly JV because his coach knew that he needed to develop. How many times do you see a kid thrown to the wolves as a freshman not reach his full potential? We now have a coach, a rising program and talent in the soph/frosh/8th grade classes that will really do some things if they work har...

Re: Monroe Central @ Caldwell 12-2 Opener

Weichman is very good, he does foul a lot. Extreme quickness, can shoot and take it to the rack. Playing with four solid seniors is going to do nothing but help him this season. Heard the boys looked really good playing against Crooksville and Trimble last night. Hope that carries over to the season...
