It was good that Anna was a public school. The same can't be said for the D-IV and D-II champs. Obviously when Oak Hill lost a starter at the end of the season...that hurt them. While they did get to state, they almost didn't get out of the district, having to play catch-up in many tournament games....

I certainly agree with that statement. Poor officiating to say the very least.

The game was very "helter skelter". The officiating did not help the matter.

Oak Hill got 12 offensive rebounds. That is a heck of a lot of offensive rebounds to give up.

Anna was the better team, no doubt. Obviously state runner-up is a great accomplishment and something to be proud of, but I am sure it is still disappointing for the 2nd time in 3 years.

The only reason Oak Hill kept it as close as they did was because Anna was horrible at rebounding and Oak Hill kept getting 2nd and 3rd chances.

Real good strategy today. Try to keep shooting the 3's (and missing) and then trying to press a team to allow them to make layup after layup after layup.

Perhaps. But you can't overlook anybody at this time of the year. I don't think Oak Hill expected what they got last Saturday.

That didn't exactly work for Oak Hill a couple times recently, and one of those teams was Garaway.

It shows the coaches did a good job of seeding. And it shows all three #1 seeds had a little bit of luck on their side (at least in Saturday's games). All three teams were in trouble at times, but all three pulled it out.

Fort Frye just couldn't get looks. They went against a half-court defense that just shut them down. In case it wasn't notced today, tournament games tend to be lower scoring. It comes down to possessions, defense, and offensive execution. The first team to 30 will win this game.

Ironton seemed sluggish to me and just couldn't find their game today. But they are young and will be back again.

Fort Frye has only themselves to blame for the loss. They were the team not talking a shot. Garaway actually shot very poorly for the game.

A 28 - 31 score isn't exactly burning up the nets either!

Ironton has the tournament experience, but Eastern Brown has a very nice team. I think Eastern Brown will prevail in the 4 quarter due to their senior leadership.

Perhaps. But now Garaway is at Athens and everyone there is going to have to watch them play!

Coach Liedtke could put it to Garaway twice in one week.

But I remember Tusky Valley from last year. They were awful good and while Fort Frye wasn't bad last year, they were not at the level they are this year. And Garaway is probably about the same or perhaps a little down from the team last year.

But wasn't Garaway's win in '03 revenge for Fort Frye beating their boys a few years earlier in the districts? I believe Garaway had quite the team that year and Fort Frye upset them....going all the way to Columbus that year too?
