Re: Players to pass the 1000 pts mark in 2017-18 season
What are everyone's thoughts on this 1000 pt recognition. I think it is a good thing but I think this can cause a problem in playing team ball. I know there have been a lot of 1,000 pt achievers that are team players, but I am seeing some that are just all about shooting and and trying to hit it and...

Re: Top teams in 2018
JMO on these teams from what I know is coming back and seeing some of the players and teams over the summer. From what I have heard the D3 Sectionals is down to 2 Sectional? If that is true that will really change the landscape as far as teams making to District Semi's and beyond. Berlin Hiland is ...

Re: 2017-18 SOC1 Thoughts/Predictions
I am guessing New Boston coming out on top this year with ND or Clay as the #2 spot. New Boston gained some talent and ND has a lot of good returners and gaining a good guard. Clay has all their talent returning although they are young they have a few ballers in the sophomore and junior class.

Re: Convo updates Clay vs South Webster 3-11 12pm
Great game and says a lot for Clay team. Their main scorers were not getting action and foul trouble but shows they played as a team and others stepped up. This is a team well coached and seems to have big community support! Webster has a great team, and battled until the end. Panthers have big game...

Re: All district team
Off season for girls that want to go to next level is where it's at. It's almost like HS ball is more like off season and conditioning for spring/summer ball. I just know that the past few years I have seen girls get all district or HM that stats don''t show it or how they selected them. And then th...

Re: All district team
I know a few players that have colleges come and watch them play because I was at those games and actually talked to the college rep that was there. They would say that they saw the player off season and got their schedule to come and watch. But they come and find the player got minimal play time. T...

Re: All district team
Players just need to not read into All District and just focus on what they do outside season. That's where it's seen. You have girls sitting the bench reg season that are getting college looks but never get All Soc or even honorable mention during HS ball. That's why it has turned into the politic...

Re: Tournament Refs vs Regular Season Refs
It's never consistent but I can say that people see things from their angle in the gym than the way refs might see it. Refs want to do a good job to get future games. They are on spotlight especially in tourney play.

Re: Tournament schedule/scores
Meigs is impressive. If they bring their A game, they will be hard to beat. ND will give them a good run. Meigs has a solid paint and perimeter game.

Re: Importance of junior varsity basketball
I agree that Junior Varsity is important and is going downhill. They get minimal practice because of the focus is all on varsity. Who is the future??? And when they find games to play they only are getting 2 quarters in. It is making kids not play due to putting in practice time and getting a few sh...

Re: SOC1 Standings
Both teams missed bunny shots all night. But Clay was outmatched on the court. Notre Dame's defense was the major key, they made it tough on Clay most of the night (minus some missed bunny shots by Clay). Clay has some athleticism but Notre Dame has too much size inside and guards able to shoot out...

Re: SOC 1 and 2 Predictions and Thoughts
After this season is underway, I think Western can be thrown in the toss up for the title. My predictions were ND, Clay, and East. I think Western is right there now. New Boston might surprise too. I watched East and Western with Western winning and East and Clay with Clay winning. All 4 of those te...
