Re: Point Pleasant 61 Gallia Academy 12
PPHS sophomore Cason Payne sets a school record for touchdown passes in a game (in one half) with five scores - one to senior Jason Wamsley, one to sophomore Josh Wamsley, two to junior Alec Smith(one was in stats as a rush but it was a pass), and one to junior Keyshawn Stover. Payne also ran for 10...

Re: Week 3 (0-2) Gallia Academy @ Point Pleasant
Point Pleasant comes in 2-0 with wins over Lincoln County and Ripley. Key offensive weapons include senior running back Grant Safford, sophomore quarterback Cason Payne, and senior running back Sheb Harris. Two seniors anchor the line with Seth Stewart, who committed to LSU this past summer, and Joe...

Re: Week 1- Meigs vs Gallia Academy
And i would much rather these kids sell 50 things a year then stand on the corner and beg for money like what happens across the river every Saturday morning or almost every Saturday. Our kids sell things I think twice a year. No standing on the corner. Most "standing on the corner" are t...

Re: Gallia Academy 2016
Gallia Academy is now in an 8 team league. They have 3 available non-league games, and Meigs, River Valley, and Point Pleasant are basically the 3 biggest rivalry/money games that they could possibly ever schedule. I would look for the schedule to remain the same for quite a while. This is it for P...

The vibe seems to have changed in six years. Seemed pretty positive back then.

Re: Point Pleasant (WV) to the TVC or OVC?
Every four years. Won't be looked at again until 2019.
When we were deemed AAA they had 37 I believe schools and we were the smallest. This time, they moved 8 schools down to AA and only kept 29 in AAA. A real shakeup of how things were always down. We were going to be down no matter what though.

Re: Point Pleasant (WV) to the TVC or OVC?
Ripley is AAA. They can't go to a AA league. They have to play X amount of AAA teams to qualify for the playoffs.
You won't see Ripley and us in the same league, either.

Re: Point Pleasant (WV) to the TVC or OVC?
You won't see us and the two Parkersburg schools in the same league.
South has 1576
Parkersburg has 1798
They are not going to want to play a AA team.

Re: Point Pleasant (WV) to the TVC or OVC?
We didn't replace RV in the SEOAL. They were in the league most of the time we were in it except just the last few years. I assume we left because we were accepted into the Cardinal and we went to AA at the time so we didn't have to play the bigger schools to meet playoff requirements. We went back ...

Gallia was not worth 13 points. I don't think you know how the system works.

An 0-10 D-1 school would be worth 12 points in WV.Raider6309 wrote:Beating a 0-10 D1 school is the same as beating a 9-1 D1 school lol
A 9-1 d-1 school would be worth 21 points in WV (assuming they beat all teams in their class).
Not the 'same'...

Only an hour and fifteen minutes or so. Went there 2 years ago I think it was for a scrimmage. Better than some of our 2 and 3 hour hikes that we go on.Valenth wrote:Portsmouth to Point Pleasant? Thats a Drive!

Re: Week 5 GAHS to face powereful PPHS Friday
I just don't understand the whole traveling across boards just to bash us. Some of these deals haven't panned out and the teams around us are at low points. Oak Hill was in the playoffs and went down. Shady was in the semi finals when we signed that deal. Are you saying you wouldn't have signed that...

Well..hard for me to think otherwise when you post the same thing you did last week on another board.

Re: Week 5 GAHS to face powereful PPHS Friday
Your post is an opinion.
My post was a fact.
I don't know will finish higher, lower, or tied with them....it was Spring Valley 21 Ripley 14 at the end of the third quarter last Friday. Same team that held SC to 14 and beat them just one week before.
And honestly....LC is better than Ripley.
