Re: 2019 Region 27

Way too early predictions, seedwise... 1. Trimble 2. Harvest Prep . . 3. Lucas** 4. Waterford 5. Berne Union 6. River 7. Notre Dame 8. Rosecrans *** If Lucas in another region, then maybe NC sinks to D7. FC has a good QB and a good RB, but with no line they’re cashed. What does Rosecrans have retur...

Re: The future of grass fields

From my understanding, if schools set aside the same amount of money they spend for maintaining the field (labor, fuel, gas, mower maintenance, fertilizer, seed, water, paint, etc) they can easily afford the replacement of turf after its 10 year life. The major issue is the initial investment, but ...

Re: Burned out of playing sports

What should be prioritized is education. Students in a typical high school receive more academic scholarships than they do athletic scholarships. I agree 79Tiger. Btw...I assume from your username that you graduated in 79 from Ironton. I know the 79 team was State Champs...but 78 (your senior year ...

What will the new coach have to work with in regards to players returning from last season? Is the new coach expected to retain any staff members from the previous staff?

Re: Burned out of playing sports

I wish kids could play sports to play and have fun. It seems like anymore, kids are pressured to try and get a scholarship. Playing to play and have fun has disappeared! I don't completely agree with this statement either. Yes, we want the athlete to have passion and enjoy playing the sport, but th...

Waverly’s primary WR, junior to be Phoenix Wolfe broke his ankle Tuesday (nastiest break I’ve ever seen). He may or may not be ready to go - prayers for a complete and speedy recovery.
Sorry to hear that! I hope he has a fast and speedy recovery!

Re: Downs out at Vinton County

Poo, I spoke to him a few years back and asked him if he missed it, he said, no. I think he was enjoying his time and got the impression he had no desire to coach. I was surprised when I heard he was coaching again at Southeastern. He was on the Nate and Lugs' podcast and he stated then that he cam...

I believe that coaches can be promised an extended contract, but are only issued one contract at a time.

Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates

Burg will reload. They just need to figure out QB position. They will be smaller but a lot quicker on the defensive side of the ball. I think they will be like johnstown defensively next year. A little undersized but really fast. Not saying they wont be good, but.... they have A LOT of talent and e...

Re: The Rivalry-Rich Football of Southeastern Ohio

I think Athens is bigger. It's week 10 and for a conference championship in most years. Plus, the Athens rivalry is decades older. Trimble is definately a rivalry game, but I would rank Athens as NY's top rival. The Athens game definitely has more riding on it. Conference title and playoff birth! N...
