They will not cost spring sports another season. You can't take two seasons away from kids that bust their ass. Football and soccer can just take their licks like the spring sports did if they are not allowed to play.
OHSAA goes broke if there isn't football revenue.

I read on twitter that the Ohio Central Football Coaches did not make a proposal. It was a made up story by the thisweeknews.
It was not made up by ThisWeekNews.

Re: OHSAA Update July 7th

Getting the test isn’t the issue, it’s getting the results. If you actually read the OHSAA order it says all kids and coaches participating in a contest have to have the results for a negative Covid test in hand and it has to have been done within 72 hours of the contest. It’s taking non-emergency ...

You appear to have left out the part it’s the sup’t of the second-largest district in the state.

Re: Changing Mascots?

For the record, not disputing which one the county and therefore the high school is named for but the mascot definitely has a tie-in to John Hunt Morgan. They may not have considered the overarching context of Morgan’s Raiders being confederate but that’s definitely where they got the name.

Re: Changing Mascots?

Morgan and Adena may also have to change names of the school along with thier mascot. Morgan was a confederate general and Adena was the anme of a tribe of native americans. Monroe County was named for Daniel Morgan of Revolutionary War fame, not John Hunt Morgan of Confederate Raider fame, but eit...

Re: 2020 Football Season

I’m hearing they have to decided to start the season on time as of now and have gov DeWine on board. Hopefully it'll work out, hard to believe 4-5 weeks from now is scrimmage time. Thanks for all the information you've been providing Ohsaa is trying to move forward and I’m glad to see DeWine is bac...

Mike DeWine can really care less about the OHSAA's business. You're going too far out on a limb on this one, brother.

Recently Snodgrass had called out Dewine in a presser and some think the gov came for him.
This is a bizarre idea.

Re: Jerry Snodgrass out as OHSAA Director

1.) Jerry Snodgrass is a great guy whose heart is definitely in the right place, trying to juggle the best interests of the kids and what was smart to do. 2.) There is very little reason to believe ALL of Ohio would be playing high school football, with fans in the stands, this coming fall and yet t...

Re: Loss Of Income From Football

Each participant on any team would pay a flat fee to play sport say 100.00 a player this would be forPPE, extra costs of anything pertaining to stop the spreadof this killer. Funds will have to be made up and the school districts that follow sound financial rules will make sure there district doesn...

Re: Acceptable Sacrifices To See The 2020 Season Take Place?

All of the acceptable sacrifices to have seen the season would’ve been done in April, May, June and still today: wear a mask, cut down on the trips to non-essential businesses and give some space between you and the next guy. Consider axing that vacation to Florida or SC, too. Not entirely sure how ...

Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!

From what I've read and heard the media is reporting rise in Covid cases (obviously due to increased record testing and opening up the economy), but they are ignoring the decline in deaths and hospitalizations. To me, everything the media is reporting is simply fear mongering and they will push the...

Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!

Columbus City schools announced blended Ed, meaning part attendance, part online for elementary. For H. S. Online. This will mean no sports. I’m hearing most schools up here are planning on going blended as well. That will mean no sports as well. Many announcements coming soon. Part attendance for ...

Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!

IMO a persons stance on Covid is based solely on how they react to a set of given numbers presented to them. If told a global disaster was inevitable but 99% of the population would survive, basically little fanfare would accompany the news. Told a global disaster we couldn't do anything to stop wo...

Re: Ironton - 2 JV Teams Schedule

The one thing that Ironton better be careful of is quarter limits. Yeah, which is why I think they probably made the point of the second reserve team. It would be imperative for them to make sure none of the names that appear on the second reserve team are dressing or possibly finding their way ont...

Re: Loss Of Income From Football

We lose money on football. And we’re a program that’s made playoffs the past two seasons. No football season has a negligible effect on us, at least. It’s the possibility of basketball being affected, regarding gym capacities, that would really screw us.

Re: Ironton - 2 JV Teams Schedule

The reason why schools (who have the numbers to do so) choose to field a second reserve team is so the bottom 15% of their program's participation (be it youth, size, age, ability or "commitment") has a squad they can play on while also at the same time making it clear these kids will not be finding...
