Vinton County has been really hit with the injury bug all season. I've been watching VC basketball for a lot of years. And can't remember a season when pretty much, the whole starting line up being sidelined at some point of the season. Bryce Damron is the only starter not to be sidelined this year.

Based off what his mother said after the game last night, I will be surprised if we see Speakman on the court tonight. She said they didn't feel that it was a bone issue. She said he had a lot of pain any time he moved. Sounds muscular to me. I say, let him rest and be ready next Friday for Wellston...

Speakman went down hard trying to block a shot in the first. Came back for the start of the second but couldn't go. Went to the locker room early in the period and hasn't came back out.

Awesome game in an awesome atmosphere. Standing room only in the alley and it took overtime to decide it. That's the type of game that should be played when two teams that were tied for first place play. Great game Vikings and congrats to Coach Combs on his 300th win.

Good game earlier at VC, always tough at Alex. Rooting for the Vikings in a thriller. Comes down to making free throws in this one.

Looking for a good game. Saw them also early this year. Point guard play was good and they could shoot the three. If I remember correctly they were not very big. That should be VC's advantage. Good luck to all!!!

Combs took the starters out with 6:37 left in the fourth. Vikings started out slow and was down 10-4 early. Went on a huge run and ended up 21 at the half. Great game for the Vikings after the loss to Athens. Keep it rolling, tournament seedlings are in two weeks.

Athens 54 VC 51 final. Speakman missed a shot with 5 seconds left that would have given the Vikings the lead. Key in this game was missed free throws by VC!!
