Re: Jackson @ Wellston 2008

NYBuckeye96....The number one reason this game is played is the $$$$$$$$$$ from the gate. Too much for either school to pass up. And, since it's at Wellston this year and on a Saturday night, that means even more $$$$$$$$$$$. BTW, for those counting, the streak is at 17 for Jackson over Wellston. Wi...

Re: Trinble vs. Nelsonville (Game1)

I would love to see this game in person as a spectator, but if it's week one this year, I'll be covering Chesapeake at Oak Hill on Friday night and Jackson and Wellston on Saturday night. Darn. I covered four Nelsonville-York-Trimble games in the past, including the classics in 2001 (14-6 Trimble wo...

Re: The Sunday Sentinel

gahs4ever...good posts. You understand how the newspaper business works. And sometimes we can tell people who don't understand how it works until we are blue in the face, and they still won't get it. I always welcome anybody who thinks they know the ins and outs of our jobs better than we do to come...

Re: Southeast District Heat / Flight Assignments Are Up

Knowbody....It sounds like you have issues with Jay Lucas, but I am willing to bet a tank or two of gas with today's prices that you have never said those things to his face or his dad's for that matter.

Re: Southeast District Heat / Flight Assignments Are Up

Knowbody......What is your problem with Jay Lucas?

BTW, shortly after I called Jay Lucas last night, the results were posted on baumspage when he said he was e-mailing them.

Re: The Sunday Sentinel

Knowbody....Bryan does not have anybody write articles for him. He does all of his own work, and does it very well. You sound like someone with an axe to grind, and your name sounds fitting.

BTW, Was that you who I had a lengthy staredown with today at the Division II meet in Oak Hill?

Re: Southeast District Heat / Flight Assignments Are Up

If it helps explain things, I personally asked Jay Lucas at the Division III district meet on Tuesday if the results would be posted on baumspage that night. He said they would be. I was not in Oak Hill on Wednesday night for the Division II meet, but did make a return appearance on Friday night. Ja...

Re: The Sunday Sentinel

Karl......My colleague and friend Bryan Walters of the Gallipolis Daily Tribune has always done, still does and will always continue to do an excellent job of covering track and field. Regardless of what newspaper he has been employed with. Anyone who thinks anything different – quite frankly - ha...

Re: Marietta @ Jackson

Final score: Marietta 3, Jackson 0

Marietta scores all three in top of 7th and Evan Brockmeier limits Jackson to only one hit while the Ironmen make four errors, including two in the seventh.

Story by Rio Grande SID Mark Williams in Tuesday's (May 6) Times-Journal.

jackson1.....yes, it was nice to have a LITTLE relief on Saturday. This Saturday, though, is a different story.

jackson1.....I echo the congratulations to Ms. Wasch, but the correct spelling of her first name is Jarin.

Just trying to be "effective" Lol...It was nice talking to you again today and yes, I'm still awake and working away on a few more things.

Re: TVC Scores and Standings

Wellston 5, Vinton County 1

Although it looked bad, hope Vinton County's Andy Grillo's ankle is not too seriously injured. He was injured running to first base on a hit in the last inning and had to be helped off the field.

Good win for Wellston

Re: TVC Scores and Standings

Wellston survives a big scare and wins at Vinton County 10-6 in eight innings.

Vinton County almost scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh, but runner was tagged out at the plate.

Wellston stays alive and remains tied in the loss column with Alexander in the TVC-Ohio.
