Final score: Jackson 12, Oak Hill 2 in 6 innings. Site was switched to Jackson, but Jackson was considered the visiting team. Opening game for both teams.

Vinton County 9, Piketon 7 Final score on Monday

The Gallia Academy and Ironton baseball and softball games on Monday, March 31, as well as the Athens and Warren baseball and softball games on Monday, March 31, were postponed.

Logan did beat Marietta in baseball 11-7 and Marietta beat Logan in softball 3-2.

Jottings....Chillicothe at Jackson, ppd. with no makeup date yet. Same for softball.

Chillicothe at Jackson and Waterford at Wellston, both postponed and no makeup dates as of yet.

matt ash.....According to my Wellston softball schedule, and Rick Perdue told me this last week, they are supposed to play Marietta in the Friday 2 p.m. game. So I'm not sure.

Also, as far as the weather, one of the forecasts I saw has Friday being another soaker. I guess we'll wait and see.

South Point plays Wellston twice this season. The Lady Pointers lost to the Lady Rockets 1-0 in last year's Division III sectional championship game. Mikyla Perkins, Wellston's graduated second baseman, made a leaping grab of a line drive in the last inning that robbed the Lady Pointers of the poten...

Wellston has eight seniors on this year's team, six of which have been regular starters for three or now four years. They also have three sophomores which will contribute a lot.

Worthington Christian actually had 13 threes, including 7 in the first half and 4-of-4 to start the third! They could not miss and Oak Hill could not make its. When I interviewed Coach Persin after the game, he asked me how many threes they made and I told him. I'll never forget the look on his face.
