Minford played as expected last night. Glad to hear Alley is ok.

Re: Week 8: Minford (7-0, 2-0) @ Wheelersburg (6-1, 2-0)
Big game for SOC II standings and playoff points. Winner of this game has the inside track to the gold football, and can almost lock up a home playoff game, IMO. Very important for my Falcons to win 1st down on both sides of the ball. Zero and negative yardage plays on offense put you into a bad spo...

Re: Week 7: (6-0, 1-0) Valley @ (2-4, 0-1) West
My thoughts on West... First, they are not as bad as their record reflects. They made changes and sounds like they have improved greatly since the first couple weeks of the season. Also, I just don't see them losing to Minford, Valley, and Wheelersburg. Not all 3. I'm not sure who they will beat but...

I agree. Schools can only beat who's on the schedule. Unless someone wants to drive at least an hour away there's not a lot of options for SOC II teams to schedule tough non-conference games.chicken_coop wrote:This schedule crap is SO old...good lord.

Re: Minford at Northwest Week 7
Good time to get healthy and get some practice for Burg. No disrespect for NW intended ,but I wonder if the Minford staff will go ahead and move forward in game preparations for Wheelersburg this week, to get two weeks in of prep? I would think so. Thoughts? I doubt they come right out and say that...

Re: Portsmouth West (2-3) @ Minford (5-0)
Ugly win. But you got to take a win in the SOC II any way you can get it. I think it's pretty obvious the execution tonight will not get it done against Wheelersburg, Waverly, or Valley. Good news is Minford has another week to get better. There will be no shortage of correctable mistakes on film to...

Re: Portsmouth West (2-3) @ Minford (5-0)
Tough test for my Falcons. Lots of talent on the West side, and they will be itching to prove it in league play. West had a bad start to the year but that is all forgotten if they can get things going in conference play. Minford will not be able to have 4 turnovers like they did against the oaks. If...

Re: SOC 2 Play is Finally Here!! Discussion??
Right now Valley, Wheelersburg, and Minford look to be early favorites for the SOC II. I also wouldn't sleep on West though. Triplett is a very good coach and has had 5 weeks now to work out their issues. Certainly West will be ready to mentally hit the reset button. Waverly has not been as good as ...

Re: Week Five: Oak Hill (4-0) at Minford (4-0)
What a game. Both teams had many opportunities to win and lose the game. Proud of my Falcons for hanging in there until the very end. This team has a 'never over' mentality. Both teams made a lot of mistakes in this one, but the fans sure got what they paid for. Hats off to Oak Hill, very talented a...

Piketon is very talented. If they can refocus after two rough weeks, they can win out and still have a shot at the playoffs.

Very quiet thread for two undefeated teams at the halfway point of the year. Big test for my Falcons at home. Big playoff points for the winner.
Let's Go Falcons. Get another win and more momentum heading into the 2nd season.

Re: Week 5 (4-0) Ironton @ (1-3) Portsmouth
Ironton big. If Minford can put up over 400 yards on the ground Ironton will run the ball all night. Portsmouth does have some speed at the skill positions, but Ironton shouldn't have a problem.

Re: Week Five: Oak Hill (4-0) at Minford (4-0)
Another good test for my Falcons this week. Should be a very physical game. Minford has a punishing ground game thus far, and has played very good defense all year. Tons of playoff points at stake too. Both teams are on track to have a good year so the points will keep coming. What offense and defen...

Re: Week 4: Portsmouth @ Minford
Good win for my Falcons tonight. Run game was just too physical for the trojans. I'll give Portsmouth credit, they came out and fought hard the first half, really gave Minford a game. In the end they just had no answer for the strength in the trenches. Portsmouths biggest problem isn't coaching, it'...

Re: Week 4: Portsmouth @ Minford
Back to talking about the actual game.... Minford is averaging over 32 points per game and only giving up 11. Portsmouth is averaging just over 19 and giving up over 32. This game is there for the taking for my Falcons. If they come out and execute, keep mental mistakes and turnovers at a minimum, t...

Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
I know there are injuries at RB but, I wouldn't let Miller run too much in these early games.
If I'm Urban Meyer, Guiton is going to get some touches this week to help with the run game.

Re: Week 4: Portsmouth @ Minford
If my Falcons prepare well, they can win this game. If there are continued penalties and turnovers this may turn into a dogfight. Minford should be excited to have a chance at being the first team to beat Portsmouth in the history of Minford Football. I know Portsmouth is not near what it was, but a...

Re: Minford (2-0) at Piketon (2-0)
What an ending. Always glad to see my Falcons get a win. Penalties and turnovers can cost you a close game, and they almost did tonight. But, Minford kept playing till the very end and won a game against a pretty good Piketon team. Lots of playoff points to come from Piketon. Plenty to learn and cor...

Re: Minford (2-0) at Piketon (2-0)
No doubt the hardest test for both teams so far. I think both teams that Minford and Piketon have beat are winless, so this game will help the winner find out how good they are. Piketon sounds like they are experienced and physical. Minford has a good mix of speed, depth at some positions, and exper...
