Re: Freshmen-play em or JV?

Play your best 9, age shouldn't determine playing time. I know of at least one freshman that's hitting over .700 right now. Lower classmen should be in charge of picking up and getting things ready, but when it comes to playing, you gotta play your best 9

Re: What's wrong with this board?

As MD said, burg is just too deep and will probably sweep the soc again. I do think there will be a swing of power in the next couple years. Burg will still be a force to reckon with, but I don't see them being the dominant force they are now. I look for Burg, OHill, Minford, and NW being close to t...

Re: Jr. High Softball report

Never got to follow green much last year, what teams did they win against? We only got to see them once. Going off last year's final 4, 2 of those teams returned almost all of their starters. Ironton lost a ton, minford lost a lot, ND lost both starting pitchers, and most of their infield, but did g...

looking for pitching lessons 8/9 yr old

Looking for pitching lessons for an 8-9 yr old girl. They would like to stay around Adams, highland, brown and scioto counties. Could even be a high school player who is willing.

Re: recruiting/high school

I do know of one coach that attends HS games ;) I agree with, to an extent that coaches are not going to go to HS games to recruit, however, if they are interested in a local girl, I could see them making the effort to show to 1 or 2, maybe more depending on who's playing who.. As far as travel ball...

recruiting/high school

Was talking with a parent this past wkd about school ball. For those that have went, are going through, or if you're a coach... Do you feel that it would hurt the players chance to be recruited if they choose not to play school ball? Personally I think it would raise too many red flags.. do college ...

Re: Jr. High Softball report

Since the last few post have mentioned individual achievements, I think it's only fair to mention Rylie Hughes from Oak Hill. She had 3 HRs as a sixth grader playing Jr High ball. During Jr High as a 7th grader she had 4 HRs, three of which were against Ironton. Batted .620. During her travel ball ...

Re: Jr. High Softball report

The girl from firestix can bring it. We watched her throw last year in a tourney, and I would guess mid to upper 50's. For the past few years, I would say pitching speeds avg 48-52/4. Last year, I'd say MB from Ironton was probably the fastest we'd seen and would guess her around 55/6. There are def...

Re: Jr. High Softball report

Oak Hill will be the team to beat hands down SURPRISE TEAM: Green They have one of the best pitchers in this area. Probably THE BEST defensive shortstops in the area. Solid hitting and coaching with a weight and conditioning program that I believe has already started for the upcoming season. Had a ...

Re: Jr. High Softball report

Northwest will be one of the top contenders as well, with only losing 2 8th grade starters from last years squad and a 7th grader that will definitely help out Notre Dame.

demarini cf6 fs

Have a used no-return cf6, 32/22 Fs (balanced model, no end load). No cracks, good grip, in decent shape. $50. Not sure how hard it is, but would be nice to see a classifieds section added to the forum.

I believe Wamsley set the new soc record with that jump, think the old one was 4'6, or 4'7.

Re: jr high softball

I don't think I've read one post on here about someone putting a team or player down. Its been a lot of fun this year, we know one person likes their crow grilled ;) and those Ironton folk really like their popcorn. But I dont see any negativity coming from this thread. If someone is offended, then ...

Re: jr high softball

Didn't get the Ironton vs ND, but oaks over burg 10-3, Ironton over oaks 15-5. The finals had a pretty good shower pop up in the 3rd that they played through. Gotta hand it to the pitchers for being able to hold onto the ball during that mess.
