Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #4
Belpre tops Trimble 57-50. Is Belpre undefeated in TVC-Hocking play? I'm impressed with Belpre’s non-conference schedule. Warren twice, Fort Frye, John Marshall (Big School WV), Marietta, Meigs, South Webster, Wahama, and Williamstown twice (probably will play for a state championship in WV). Good f...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #4
Pfloyd, I like your top 8….I would personally have Marietta, Warren, South Webster, and Minford in my Top 4 but I understand your reasoning….mainly Warren playing Linsly so close @ Linsly (basically an all star team). I’ve only seen Marietta play Massillon Perry and Warren play in their Clash @ the ...

It’s great to hear that the Districts are back at the Convo! I think it’s a wonderful tradition for SE Ohio HS basketball!

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #3
Warren losing to a winless Parkersburg HS (decent “foreign” team) has to bump them from #1…they sit at 6-2. The way it’s looking they will have two or three more losses this year….Bloom-Carroll, Marietta (possibly twice), & Fairfield Union. Warren is still an excellent team for SE Ohio standards...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 in Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #2
Marietta is loaded. I totally agree. I believe pfloyd will have Marietta in his top 8 after this week. IMO, Marietta is a top two team in SE Ohio AND has the best player in SE Ohio in 6’8” do it all, University of Findlay bound Alex Kendall…..a great supporting cast that is athletic/skilled and the...

Re: 12/19 Fort Frye @ Belpre
I’m taking Belpre in this one. Henniger is going to be getting his Cadets ready for this one but I think Belpre is riding high and takes down Fort Frye. Plus, Belpre has the home crowd advantage (not the Referee advantage as The Ultimate Lancer suggests lol). The Cadets are top heavy with talent and...

I don’t believe high schools assign the officials anymore, and it’s been that way for awhile. No more teams getting “homed,” anymore.

Re: Twin State League Boys Hoops
It’s going to a be a barn burner when Marietta and Warren play! I look for Kendall to flex his muscles as his skill, experience, and confidence puts him as the front runner for the SE District D2 Player of the Year. He’s the best player @ MHS since Ben Howlett (West Liberty University’s Head Coach) ...

Re: Well... you Howie Haters got what you wanted!
Howie hands down best Coach in southestern Ohio. Future looks bright for Tomcats under the legend! Are you sure Blane Maddox for Warren isn’t the best coach? I hope your joking when you said Howie is “hands down” the best coach in southeastern Ohio. He’s amongst the best but not necessarily the best.

Re: Warren at Marietta
I look for Marietta to make some noise during the postseason. I like their combination of size, skill, experience, and coaching. Warren, on the other hand, is well coached but they are young and offensively rely on two players. They need to keep games close to have a chance. Rooting for both teams c...

Re: Jackson vs Warren Local
Maddox is simply the best ACTIVE coach in SE Ohio. I personally don’t think there is someone close when it comes to game prep, knowing what his kids are capable of, encouraging the kids, disciplining the kids, in game adjustments, attracting good assistants, composure, and Xs&Os. The only defici...

Re: Top five active coaches in Southeast Ohio
When I think of top ACTIVE coaches in SE Ohio you have to list Blaine Maddox as #1. He gets the most out of his players. He might not have the most talent every year, but he gets the kids to play hard, execute, and be a tough out EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Plus he has a Final Four appearance 10 years ago. T...

Williamstown is what Warren hopes to be in the future. Good luck to both teams the remainder of the season. Rooting for both programs.

Re: Wk 3: Warren (1-1) @ Williamstown (1-0)
I’m going with Williamstown by 17 points in this one. If Williamstown’s stud QB/Athlete/D1 baseball commit was 100% healthy (assuming his knee is still bothering him), I believe it would be a four TD game. Williamstown’s physicality and speed will be overwhelming. Warren is a year away from being a ...

Belpre clearly has a leadership problem. The talent/interest is down as well. Warren should have their way with Belpre.

Re: Coaching Openings
Nope...job is still posted. They elimanted his teaching job so he resigned as coach. I hope they hire a coach that wants to get the program back on track. I’d start with someone who can keep the best players @ Belpre & attempt to revive the peewee program. Maybe they can get a former OSU player...
