Re: Just announced: Paden City (WV) High to close

Down in the valley wrote: Tue Jun 18, 2024 6:01 pm Didn't Paden City go like 8-2 last year and missed the WV playoffs cause their schedule was so weak?
Yes and had they snuck in that first round game likely wouldn't have been pretty. Schools like PC will benefit from the new four class format in WV though.

Re: Just announced: Paden City (WV) High to close

Sounds like the EPA came out and said the school site is actually safe and there are no health risks?

Really hate to see this. Assuming this decisions stands, add Paden City to the long list of West Virginia communities that have lost their schools and with them their identity.

Re: Warren Football 2024

That’s really surprising. Thought we’d be 4 for the foreseeable future. Surprising for sure and unfortunate for a Warrior team that should have playoff aspirations. Sheridan, Steubenville, and Hartley all made the jump with Warren. New Philly and Dover come over from region 9. Throw in the usual su...

Waterford CB is 17

Waterford 86 last season to 114
Eastern 87 last season to 124

Re: Warren Football 2024

Love these threads, good discussion getting ready for the season and figuring out the lay of the land. This is what the site is supposed to be about...not trolling and 10,000 interview posts with players from places I've never heard of. We’ve had our disagreements on here in the past, but I respect...

Re: Warren Football 2024

I would argue the Fort Frye point this year. Years past, sure. Miller, outside of one run, ran for 30-some yards on 4 carries. We had a good game plan for them. His one long one put him over 100, and that was when we were desperate on D. IF Pepper doesn’t get stopped on the 3 inch line early, that ...

Re: Marietta Tigers 2024

Yea you have a point there. Williamstown was rumored and is perfect in location but smaller in size. I did notice JM on a lot of schedules this year but it’s a long drive I believe. If the TSL looked to split, you could add Wahama WV, Williamstown and steal some hocking schools to make a small divi...

Re: Marietta Tigers 2024

I always though Marietta was a hidden gem in football that just needed the right coach to direct them they always had the talent to win just never seemed to get the right coach to get the participation of the kids to buy in to the program I don't really get how it's a "hidden gem". There ...

Re: Marietta Tigers 2024

Just going off the top of my head with this post. I'm sure others can add some names. Obviously there are some big holes to fill. A lot of offensive production to replace with Lieras-Kelly, Zane Wittekind, and Junior Smith graduating. Warden will be back at QB. Some other key players returning are S...

Re: D-II Convo Final - New Lex vs. Warren

New Lex's defense will keep them in this game. If the Panthers hit some 3s, I think they win. Monday night was my first time watching New Lex this season and I really don't think they have gotten as much respect on here as they deserve. They have 21 wins and have beaten Sheridan, Tri-Valley, Miami T...

If Ironton is looking for some new linemen, I would definitely take a look up at South Gallia. The Rebels always seem to dominate the annual Southeast Ohio linemen rankings. :D
