Hopefully this is a long term series. Two of the best small school programs in eastern Ohio.

Re: New week 1 Rivals

Marietta vs Morgan is back on the schedule for week 1 this season. The two were traditional week 1 opponents/rivals for a while, but haven't played in a couple seasons. Was pretty one sided in favor of Marietta towards the end, but Morgan's program is in a much better place now. Glad to have them ba...

Re: Fairfield Union @ Meigs - Tuesday

Gameday. Not much talk about what looks like an interesting matchup tonight. Despite the seeding, I have Fairfield Union as the favorite in this one based on the Meigs injury situation and the strength of the MSL compared to the TVC. It's tournament time though and a Marauder victory wouldn't surpri...

Re: Marietta vs Gallia Academy

Gameday I'd like to see Marietta come out and put Gallia away early. Do what a 1 seed should do against a 16 seed. Last game at Sutton Gym for our three seniors, I think they are going to ball out. On the flip side, Gallia Academy has been tested with a tough OVC schedule and won't be unprepared. St...

Re: Rivalries in the SE

Marietta and Warren have been great rivals for years. Gyms are always packed for that one. +1 Marietta vs Warren is always a hard fought game with great crowds. Even when Marietta has been overmatched for the past decade+. There a some very good teams standing in their way, but a Marietta/Warren di...

Re: UPSET ALERT?

There are a number of teams in D2 I can see pulling upsets. As a Marietta fan, a potential sectional rematch vs Fairfield Union isn't something I'm thrilled about. Should the two advance past their first opponents, I expect a close game. FU knocked MHS out of the tournament last season. Sheridan is...

Re: Monroe Central

Always get a laugh when coaches mess up their tournament draw. How can you screw up that badly? Should've put up more of a fuss. For real. Stuff like this just shouldn't happen. The worst incident I can remember was the year East Liverpool's coach got lost on his way to the meeting. EL was the 4 se...

Re: Southeast District D4

Fed Hocker is lucky they aren’t in our bracket cause we woulda stomped them. Oh well, we’ll get to see our Howie out coach Nerm anyway. That is IF SW makes it that far and IF Nerm shows up for the game. Two big if’s I know. Nerm has been known to skip some big games this season and none will be big...

Sectional finals (game before Convo) will be neutral site is my understanding. Semifinals and Quarterfinals (D-II) will be at the higher seed.

In Division III, the top 3 seeds receive byes to the neutral site sectional finals. Seeds 4-16 will host semifinals.

The Tigers? Jackson is the Ironmen, Hookshot! One of the best mascots in SE Ohio. :)

I’m leaning VC in this one. Wonder what the strategy is knowing a tourney rematch is just around the corner.

Re: Zanesville job

No it’s a spot on take. The athletes that have came thru the last few years have a lot to do with that. The cycle of players just worked out well for WM. The other teams were down and west wasn’t. High school coaches “actually have to coach” EVERY game and more importantly for several weeks prior t...

Marietta vs Spire Institute this Friday. Maxpreps has them at (2-9) but they've played a brutal schedule. I know Lamelo Ball played there a few years back but not sure if they have a separate prep team. Anyone know anything about them?

paging @IVCHAWKS Looks like they lost to Hiland by 4.

Brownrigg would be a good fit at Granville a school that has a lot of success the past several years. MVL to Granville has been successful before! No way they would take him. We all saw what happened last year the 2 games he actually had to coach. Garaway and Harvest Prep. This is an all-time terri...
