I think it’s a bad idea. As what has already been stated above, how many parents, students, etc are going to miss seeing their child or classmates participate? Especially when some of the teams are 2 plus hours apart driving distance( don’t get me started on teams north of Columbus in the SE regions).

I believe Coal Grove will do fine with the backfield. Murphy probably at tailback with Simpson at fullback. I’m not sure who else will be in the mix.

I really hope this takes off for the schools that want to have a football team. Especially the ones that don’t have huge numbers. Does anyone think any of the local schools here will jump on board? Like St. Joe or South Webster, Clay etc?

Coal Grove loses running back Hall to graduation. If Murphy and Simpson both have productive seasons, I think they should make some noise. Time will tell. But there are some really talented teams in this region.

Really surprised they allowed Ironton to exit for football only. However, it does help the other sports keep their schedules filled out and not scrambling to schedule a ton of independent games.

Rimmer from Russell has been there since grade school. My son has played against him in little league over there. I’m not sure about the other 8th grader on the team.
