Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
AC is a Division 4 football school, Division 2/3 borderline in other sports (2 in some, 3 in others). They will not be going to the Cardinal Division with Division 7 football, Division 4 other sports schools. Liberty Union would make way more sense to return to the Cardinal, but as bman says likely ...

Re: SCOL Expanding?
Have been following this discussion from afar and still wonder what advantage(s) Circleville or Logan Elm would have going from the MSL-B to the SCOL, other than being in a conference with a few more SE district schools, which may be useful (or not, depending on if they like you) come tournament dra...

Re: Logan gets turned away from MSL again. Now what!?
I posted the quoted material some time ago in a discussion of Jackson and league possibilities. [Someone mentioned LE and Circleville joining the SCOL, hence the first part of the old post]. I think the same idea basically applies to Logan (at this time at least) and the MSL, though the distance is ...

Re: SE Ohio Teams State Championsihip Appearances
And just for kicks, here is a list of semifinalists who did not make the state finals (I may have missed one or two): Amanda-Clearcreek (V, 2006); (V, 2002); (V, 1996) Barnesville (IV, 1992) Beallsville (VI, 1994) Bellaire (IV, 2006); (IV, 2005); (IV, 2003); (IV, 1997) Coal Grove (IV, 1990); (IV, 19...

Re: SE Ohio Teams State Championsihip Appearances
I had a few extra minutes today, so here you go (don't think I missed anyone) I did not include anyone inside the 270 outerbelt (i.e. Whitehall, any OCC teams, etc.) I did include eastern river teams who some would include (Bellaire, Shadyside, St. Clairsville) SE Ohio Teams in State Finals 1973 Cla...

Re: Jackson applies for membership to OVC, SOC, SCOL
As stated above, I can't imagine LE or Circleville leaving the MSL-Buckeye to join the SCOL. They seem to be very loyal to the other member schools in the MSL, and have long-standing rivalries with many league schools, especially Teays Valley and Amanda-Clearcreek. Also, the MSL-Buckeye is an ideal ...

Re: Logan Vs Shadyside
Raider,
I don't know how often such a large division spread has happened, but I do remember that in 2006, Worthington Kilbourne (DI) opened the season against Delphos St. John's (DVI), and St. John's won.

Re: With days of SEOAL numbered, Jackson looking for new lea
The MSL Buckeye would be a good fit for Jackson were it not for distance. The MSL-B has been VERY stable (only change since 1991 was Canal Winchester to the OCC, Liberty Union coming over from the MSL-Cardinal to replace them). The stability has been such because all schools have been competitive in...

Re: Logan Elm vs. Watterson — D2 regional semifinal
I posted this in reply to the Warren v. Watterson game earlier this season. Just re-posting my observations for those who haven't seen Watterson this year: "My nephew plays for Watterson and I just saw them win a close one at Ready (very good this year). They played 8 tonight, all seniors. Retu...

Re: Warren @ Bishop Watterson 12/23
My nephew plays for Watterson and I just saw them win a close one at Ready (very good this year). They played 8 tonight, all seniors. Return four starters and two key bench guys from last year. Starters: pg Calhoun. Abt. 5-10. Primary ball handler. Very effective driving to the hole. Solid shooter. ...

Re: Logan Football 2013
Circleville city schools services very few students outside of the city proper. Logan Elm (south and east), Westfall (west) and Teays Valley (north) service the rural areas around the city. Circleville is a mid-sized d3 football school as a result. Heath Hinton is a graduate of Amanda-Clearcreek (Ro...

Re: Players from your school to play Divison 1....
From Amanda-Clearcreek, the only two to receive D1 (FBS) scholarships that I am aware of were: the late Corey Estell (Miami University) Dan Davis (Eastern Michigan) A few others may have been walk-ons/practice squad players, but I don't believe any of those ever lettered or played much, if at all. A...

Re: Chillicothe vs. Circleville District final
Good luck to Circleville, though I don't have anything against Chillicothe. Have to root for a league rival though. On the Chillicothe league issue, as an A-C fan I would have liked to see Chilly in the MSL-B to replace Canal Winchester, but it didn't happen. I don't know the reasons, so I will leav...

Re: Official State sanctioned 6 man football
I do know that Stoutsville High (the Clearcreek part of Amanda-Clearcreek, borders Pickaway and Hocking Counties) played 6 man football from 1955-1960 (schools consolidated in 1961). I think Amanda High might have played 6 man for awhile also, but were a full 11 man by the late 50s. Stoutsville play...

Re: D4 R15 Semifinal: Ironton (7-4) vs. Johnstown-Monroe (11
Ok, if you want to assume they would have scored (why I'm not sure). I could assume the same about the ints also. Plus, forced turnovers are just part of the game. It's not as if itown just dropped handoffs or snapped it over the punters head.
