Re: D4 R15 Semifinal: Ironton (7-4) vs. Johnstown-Monroe (11

Ironton is good, but not 3 scores better than a-c. People seem to overlook that a-c turned it over twice also (1 of those completely unforced). Don't get me wrong, I think itown wins this one, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Re: D IV R15 Qtrs: Ironton (6-4) at Amanda- Clearcreek (8-2)

Good game by both teams. Overall, I thought a pretty even matchup. Both teams turned it over (I-town 3 fumbles, A-C 2 ints). Ironton moved it a bit more consistently on the ground. The hold to 3 pts early in the 4th quarter turned out to be the biggest series of the game IMO. I didn't really like A-...

Re: D IV R15 Qtrs: Ironton (6-4) at Amanda- Clearcreek (8-2)

I have seen A-C play a few times this year, but not Ironton. They run several different backs regularly (the most featured is Saum), all of whom are very solid-good backs. Their QB can run a bit, and while they don't throw a lot, they can throw effectively, especially to Andrix (you won't miss him, ...

Re: Logan Elm vs Amanda Clearcreek

I have watched A-C a few times, but haven't seen LE this year. Comparing scores usually doesn't indicate much. Their schedules are pretty comparable (played 7 common opponents, A-C played a better non-conference), with the results being pretty similar (Teays and maybe Hamilton aside). On paper, LE l...

Re: Chillicothe vs. Hillsboro

I have been reading Chillicothe threads for years, but am usually hesitant to comment, as I don't have any ties to the school/etc. However, I played for Coach Hinton and Coach Arndt, so I think I can comment a bit on this topic. 1. System: Coach Hinton has a system that he has RARELY varied from. It...

Bucks,

I also wouldn't rate westfall ahead of LE, as LE beat them by 29.

Re: Week 5: Logan (0-4) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)

Just an FYI, Ben Mauk played his whole h.s. Career at kenton. Was a sr. When they beat Portsmouth West for their second state title. Also, Kenton isn't a MAC school (not saying you said they were, just clarifying).

Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers vs Ironton Fighting Tigers

And you have to keep in mind A-C football wasn't that great before he got there (about a .500 team in the 70s). And it took 4-5 years to get things going (no winning record till year 5). It will take time.

Re: Amanda(0-1) @ Zane Trace(1-0) Week 2

Won't predict, as I haven't seen Trace. Watched the Aces week 1. Positives: moved the ball sporadically on the ground, when given time, the qb can throw, mostly solid against the run. Negatives: mental errors (int for a td, fake punts converted for first downs, surprise onside kick not recovered, ga...

Re: Week 2 - Nelsonville-York (1-0) @ Newark Catholic (0-1)

Bucks,

Depends on which route you take, but if you go to Lancaster then up 37, Millersport (sweet corn fest) is just off of 37. I think it is 15-20 miles from there to Newark.

Re: Should Logan Drop Lancaster

Speaking as an outside observer, I think this is a good series for both sides. It is a natural geographic rivalry, typically worth a lot playoff points-wise, and the schools are not that dissimilar in size (I know that Logan, by nature of the district's geography, is not the same as a city school of...

Re: Scores and Updates Week 1

Final: Bishop Hartley 30-Amanda Clearcreek 22.

Sloppy play on both sides. Hartley VERY fast, but at least 8 holding penalties. Great kicker. Spirited comeback by A-C from 23 down, but ran out of time. I look for both teams to have nice seasons.

Re: Logan To The OCC

Agreed with many above. The most logical choices to go to the OCC (if they do look outside) are probably the following: Canal Winchester (MSL-B) Teays Valley (MSL-B) Hamilton Township (MSL-B) Jonathan Alder (independent) All of these schools are in the Columbus metro area, and the first three would ...
