Re: Changes for 2015

I have heard that Bryan Smith is the new Waverly varsity boys coach. Bryan has assisted Chris in the past as well as coached the junior high team in the past.

I have not heard an announcement for the girls or junior high yet.

Re: Changes for 2015

If Waverly wants to start off right they would be calling former Unioto girls coach Mark Williamson who was non-renewed. I know at least 5 Waverly 6th graders play for Coach Williamson's U12 travel team. There might be some younger ones on the U11 team. The parents of these girls were all instrumen...

Re: Oak hill@Waverly 1/27

You could tell from pre-game warm-ups that Oak Hill was shooting better than Waverly and that continued throughout the game. Waverly had good ball movement early to give Chapman easy shots in the paint, but once he was subbed out they never got back to that and Chapman was cold the rest of the game....

Re: Changes for 2015

Waverly is going to have a new coach, but I have not heard if they have hired anyone yet.

There is also push to get a girls program started at Waverly. I don't know if it will happen this year or not, although rumor has it that some other schools have Waverly penciled in on their schedule.

Re: DII Boys Sectional Finals 10/18

A big day for boys DII action as well. 2:30 South Point @ Warren 4:00 McClain @ Fairfield Union 1:00 Waverly @ Unioto 7:00 Athens @ Jackson Jackson will be a great place to take in 4 good games tomorrow! This bracket says 4PM for Waverly @ Unioto. Which is it? http://www.seodab.org/images/stories/b...

Re: Week 8 - Portsmouth West at Waverly

Waverly's deep snapper was hurt prior to the West TD. The backup snapper had a bad snap which caused the bad punt to set up a short field for the West TD. The injury to the deep snapper must have also influenced the decision to go for 2 for Waverly instead of playing for OT. However, I think going f...

Re: week 7: Wheelersburg (5-1) @ Waverly (3-3) socII

Who will start at QB for Waverly this week? Is Perkins going to be back or will Kottenbrook be back or will Howell get the start? The other big problem for Waverly is that Perkins and Kottenbrook are also starting DBs.

Re: WEEK 5 (2-2) Waverly @ (2-2) Coal Grove

Waverly's offense is very predictable. Their running backs run hard and get lots of yards after contact. But they have zero passing game and a decent defense can shut down their running game like Jackson did. I don't know anything about Coal Grove, but if their defense is more like Court House and P...

Kottenbrook left the game in an ambulance last night. Any updates on how he is doing? I hope he is OK.

Re: SOC - Week 5

The roster on waverlysoccer.com lists no junior boys. Is this correct? If so, it looks like whoever is Waverly's next coach will have a lot of rebuilding to do, although there are some decent young players on the squad.

Re: SOC - Week 4

Waverly was ready to play and stepped up to the challenge. Burg never got into a good ryhthm...they hit the post several times and had plenty of opportunities but couldn't find the back of the net. Waverly keyed in on Burg's primary weapons and kept them out of the game and took advantage of opport...

Re: First Capital Fall Baseball

So there really is no 12U for SVYL fall ball? Only 10U and 8U? I'm asking becuase my 10U son has been asked to play on a 12U team and I was not sure if there were 2 different 12U leagues. Now it looks like First Capital is the only 12U league. Is that correct?

Re: First Capital Fall Baseball

Is this typically Sunday doubleheaders for all age groups? Where are the 5/6 grade games usually played? How many teams were in the 5/6 grade league last year? Are the 5/6 grade players restricted to small barrel bats or can they use any legal bat? Do the 5/6 grade teams play with open bases (leafof...
