Re: Gridiron Glory returning with expanded coverage area

For those curious about the expansion, this graphic should help visualize our new coverage. We’re going to be covering more games every week to make sure our previously covered teams keep their same amount of coverage they expect from Gridiron Glory, we are just adding new teams to the glory. Most o...

Re: Gridiron Glory returning with expanded coverage area

You guys at GG need to get WOUB to go a full hour. That's the best way to promote Ohio University's journalism department and give all of you experience of covering the great sport of h.s. football. Best of luck. Are you covering the schools in the MOVL? Gonna be honest, producing an hours worth of...

Re: Gridiron Glory returning with expanded coverage area

If the coverage area is doubled, is the time of the show doubled from 30 minutes to 60 minutes? If not, that means your core area of coverage will only have 15 minutes of coverage instead of 30 like in years past. That's not better coverage for your core area. I think it's great if this means the s...

Re: Gridiron Glory returning with expanded coverage area

No preview show this year? Also will you be able to pack all that in a half hour show? Always thought it would be nice to see more teams in this area. . No preview show this year, there will be lots of content posted on social media throughout July and August to make up for that. More content will ...

We have a big announcement that we're going to be covering all of the 740 area code this season. We're excited to provide coverage to some new teams competing for state championships....

Re: Gridiron Glory returning with expanded coverage area

Looks like they’re covering the SOC2 and OVC. MVL is always a bear but the SOC2 is the premier league in SE Ohio. The SOC2 stacks up against any other conference in the region pretty well! Yep, we'll be at plenty of SOC 2 and OVC games this season. Hoping to become a one stop shop for anything Sout...

Re: AP Poll - Jan-18

prephoops.com has them ranked 16th in D-IV behind Federal Hocking and Trimble. That's my poll! (Hate to brag but it's much more accurate than the awful AP poll, especially in divisions 3 and 4) Quick note, I don't 'rank' teams outside of the top 10. They are just put in an order that makes sense fo...

Re: whitehall vs trotwood

score from wednesday 1/13 whitehall 110 trotwood 108 2ot I was at this game, a lot of fun but a lot of free throws too. For those unfamiliar, Trotwood has been one of the top scoring teams in the state for a long time. Back in the 2018-19 season they averaged 102 PPG en route to a state title. Tons...

Re: Saturday 1-16 afternoon games?

Are schools allowing non family in now??? A few prep schools around the Cleveland area are but most are not. I’m a senior scout at prep hoops Ohio so my job is to scout the best players in the state. Been able to receive a media pass through that website at basically every school except for like 3-...

Saturday 1-16 afternoon games?

Any Saturday afternoon games? I'm headed to Waverly for a 7:30 P.M. game Vs Heath. Big Division II battle between two of the top 25 D2 teams in the state. Lot of talent in the 2022 class in that contest. If any decent games are happening in the afternoon I'd be interested in making it a double-heade...

Re: Any Surprises so far? Teams or Players who have stood out so far ?

Fairland has been disappointing in my opinion. Return 5 starters from a team that went 24-2 and was still alive in elite 8. Very safe to say they over-performed their talent level last season and are playing a little below it this year. They need more from somebody outside of Porter, Thomas and Polc...

Re: I 92’s Rankings and Random Thoughts...Week 3

It is only a three game sample size, but Eastern Brown has had an amazing start to the season. They have averaged about a 20 point margin of victory. A combination of great shooting, team speed, withering defense, bench contribution, team chemistry, and great coaching makes them scary. This is a Ro...

Re: 740 Zone Team of the Year

The lineman from GA is a solid player, but I don't think he was the best at GA, this past year. I'd give that nod to Mr. James Armstrong. That said, Armstrong is no Carrico and GA didn't use him on defense if memory serves. Was the selection more due to fewer good OL talent in the area? Every runni...

Re: 740 Zone Team of the Year

I believe one individual that was overlooked by almost all lists was #66 Eric Hurtt from Adena. Absolutely dominate all year long from his offensive guard position. Adena ran behind him 75% of the time. With tremendous success I might add. Hurtt was close to making the team. If we would've had anot...

Re: 740 Zone Team of the Year

Agreed on the QB's, just wanted to mention those two. Bartlett (2 time 1st Team All-OH) & Skaggs are studs and Players of the Year, hard to leave them off..Skaggs would be a better choice to me than Henry from St. C. Barclay and Colt Emerson (All-OH on D and as a punter) were two studs for JG an...

Re: 740 Zone Team of the Year

Looks like alot of thought and effort went into this and it's greatly appreciated. As with any team there will be people left off. I think Portsmouth West had a couple players on defense that their numbers probably should've gotten them a look, but being 6-4 and only winning one playoff game they d...

Re: 740 Zone Team of the Year

Not easy narrowing down a list to only 50 players with such a large group. No doubt that there are a few players missed. Here are a few that stand out to me: Justin Bartlett, Cambridge - Eastern District Co-Defensive Player of the Year http://www.hudl.com/v/2EZ45m Reese Skaggs, St. Clairsville - Ea...

Re: 740 Zone Team of the Year

Saw a lot of hs football of different teams online this year and one big game in person. There is no way carrico is not also the first team running back of the year . We didn't want to have a player starting both ways, but I agree Carrico would be the best running back as well. Figured naming him p...
