Re: Waverly Basketball - Head Coach

Fitch would be a great choice if he wants the job. He should have never been let go at Ironton. That was all about politics and having a basketball coach that wouldn't rock the football boat. The current coach at Ironton now won't do any rocking. He'll do what he's told

Re: Saturday 2/25 updates

Is that the final of the new Lex and Ironton game ? ... yes, New Lex wins the OT 10-4 and the game 49-43 ... New Lex is a solid TEAM - only going 6 deep but the 6 are solid/play well together ... the only quarter they showed a chink in the armor was the 3rd - only scored 2 points/ turned the ball o...

Re: Haircuts

So, if a kid wears shoes that hurts his feet just to match his teammates and have to sit out a game or two, that will ok with you. How dumb There are multiple shoes in one color, just because it’s a certain color dose not effect how it feels. Still yet there's nothing in the rule book saying socks ...

Re: Haircuts

This might be the most Boomer topic ever lol who cares how kids where their hair? EXACTLY You must be in the new trend of no discipline. Let them dress and look the way they want. Kids should wear the same kind of shoes and socks. All of that is called a uniform. Not an individual thing. It's a tea...

Carl had a specific haircut that everyone had to have and no one questioned that. We almost won the whole thing. Flip forward to today and Coach Jeff wants the boys to cut their hair and all he hears is parents beeching. Says everything about why our beloved ‘does are in the shape they are in. Plus...

Re: Haircuts

Some kids on some teams I've seen need haircuts. It doesn't represent your school or team in anyway. I think a lot of coaches let it go so they don't have to be confronted by the parents. Pretty sad. Sweat bands used to be worn to absorb the sweat. Now they are used to keep the hair out of their ey...

Definitely the best team in the OVC. TRAVIS is without a doubt the best coach in the OVC. They will be the team to beat next year also.

That would go to NFL Hall of Famer.

Irontons- George McAfee Top 50 NFL player of all-time.

2nd place

Irontons- Coy Bacon. Unoffical NFL Single Season Sack record Holder and should be Hall Of Famer.
Way to many years ago to consider McAfee. Coy maybe but not McAfee

Re: Portsmouth Trojans 22-23 Basketball

Trojans lose a heartbreaker to Ironton 77-71 in OT at Ironton. Portsmouth had as much as a 16 point lead early in the 4th quarter, but Ironton's press caused a number of PHS turnovers which the Fighting Tigers converted into points. Devin Lattimore had 24 for the Trojans, while DeAndre Berry had 17...

Re: CURRANT BASKETBALL CLIMATE

My two cents : Summer Shootouts and all the Extra crap is actually working against teams. Players are not working on their individual game (shooting and dribbling) instead they play 5-10 games in a day where hardly any defense is played, with the exception of Fouling all the time because a player c...

Re: CURRANT BASKETBALL CLIMATE

Their not a southeasternohio team but I saw Centerville ohio high school play in the Ironton Classic. They were best team I've seen play in a long time. Very well coached. Fundamentals were great and played with discipline. None I've seen better around here.

Also Ironton's State final game was led by Cliff Howard. They wouldn't have been there without him

I agree but Waginger was a heck of a player

Ironton fans still salty to this day 🤣 I guess if being the best player to come out of Ironton Is bases solely on playing defense then I guess Wags might be. But there's more to it than just that. You knoticed what I did ? Not many of the Ironton peeps wanted to mention Wags ,he was the best basket...
