The SOC does not have a junior high league meet. Have no idea why. We have tried a couple of times to get the idea rolling but it always falls through.

Last night at the Manchester Junior High Track meet. Westerns Nick Shanks cleared 5'3" in high jump. Almost got 5'5" but clicked it with his elbow.

Also, Cody Ison ran the 200 Hurdles in 30.4.

Should be a good meet tomorrow at Oak Hill as they are having their invitational. The weather is looking nice.

Hoping our Boys and girls here at Western can continue to compete and improve. We have only had one meet so far this year, which was at Jacksons Invitational last week.

Remember that a few years back when Western played Harvest Prep in the Regional finals no one gave Western a chance. Had it not have been for a deep 3 with 1.7 seconds left, Western would have beat them. Anyone can beat anyone on any given night. It can be done.

Cody Conners for Western threw 116-8 in the Disc in the district meet last year which qualified him for regionals. He will be back this year as a senior.

The Western Junior High Track team is looking for a couple of Tri or Quad Track Meets to get into for this season. Also we are looking for one invitational to get into. Hitchbone and Bengalsfan...The Pike County all time leading scorer is Jeremy McLeod from Western. He finished his career with 1975 points.

He actually broke Cocheneurs (sp) record his senior season in a game at Eastern, which was kind of neat becase Mark was there that night.

I just want to say congrats to Westerns Morgan Ross. Not only did she record 17 points, but she also had 14 steals which ties he for the 5th most steals in a game in OHSAA girls basketball history. Overall in the record book this would put her in a tie for 17th, due to ties at higher numbers.
