Re: Dragonfly athletic website
It can be a good site but I would not rely on it for scheduling purposes. It is not up to date. There isn't a better place for schedules. Some coaches/admins are quick to update MaxPreps, but that's not official. Dragonfly is the collaborative scheduling software for all OHSAA sports. It's populate...

Yep. Dragonfly is OHSAA's official partner for scheduling and referee assigning as of last yearJeeps06 wrote: Wed Jul 02, 2025 6:41 am There is a website called dragonfly athletic and I was just curious about how legit it was because South Webster schedule is on there already

Re: Jr high soccer games/scrimmages
Muskingum County has a solid set-up, in my opinion. Zanesville Arsenal SC is the local club with a boys & girls team in almost each age group, but 11v11 teams(U13 & up) only play a spring schedule. This allows the local middle-schools to not have to compete with the fall club season. Which ...

"rcsm" is a bit of an unfortunate acronym, but more coverage the better! I love SOSA's stuff, but they don't venture into Washington County much or at all. ... will the RCSM go to Washington County? it looks like they are staying in the Portsmouth/SOC1,2,3 area ... I might be wrong but if...

Re: Jr high soccer games/scrimmages
I saw a South Webster U15? boys team in a tournament hold their own in a Charleston Club tournament against clubs from Maryland and North Carolina. There's a bright future with that group! I wish the Washington County schools would start Jr High soccer. That was us. Actually jr high soccer with the...

Re: 2025 Division Breakdowns
As far as I can see no changes at all. Getting closer and closer to the summer and scrimmages. I wonder if there will be any surprise teams to shake things up a bit this upcoming fall. On the boys side the only change that popped out to me was Gallia bumped up to be the smallest DIII in the state t...

Re: 2025 Season(Boys)
I don't see any of the current D3 and D4 teams moving around. After seeing how the tournaments played out, I think the expansion was too much. I think four divisions, with only D1 being a low-number division would be better. That, or make D5 a small division too so D3 and D4 are larger. There should...

Re: Football/Soccer
Soccer without stands is very normal. Any experienced soccer parent has a collection of camp chairs and pop-up canopies. Even when you visit mature HS soccer programs with dedicated game fields (Warren, Marietta, Unioto, Gallia) you'll find plenty of spectators brining their own chairs and leaving e...

Re: Football/Soccer
How many area soccer/football fields are under water with the flooding and rains??? I have pictures of several area fields with water standing on them with all the holes and creeks nearby. As long as it doesn't happen in-season, annual flooding can be healthy for natural grass fields that are using...

Re: Crowd Conduct
How in the world do you come up with 40-50 HS and Jr High basketball teams in Washington County? Some math: Warren typically has as many as 10 or 11 : Boys Varsity, Boys JV, Boys Freshmen, Girls Varsity, Girls JV, Boys 8th Grade (x2), Boys 7th Grade (x2), Girls 8th Grade, Girls 7th Grade Marietta n...

Re: Football/Soccer
Thats right . Let EVERYONE practice and play on it. That way it wont be nice anymore. On grass fields, you have a solid point — on artificial turf? not so much. There are artificial turf facilities like Shawnee in Charleston that host dozens of soccer, lacrosse and football games every week for 9 m...

Re: Football/Soccer
Networking at its finest.... Equal and level playing opportunities for football and soccer are coming to a school near you in 2025. That's not what Title IX protects, but I'll quit trying to convince you otherwise—good luck in your lawsuit Beyond that, soccer and football do not require the same fa...

Re: Football/Soccer
All K-12 programs must have equal opportunities and benefits of every other team in the district. This is not correct. "[Title IX] ...prohibits schools that receive Federal funding from discriminating based on sex in their programs or activities." That means boys and girls need equal oppo...

Re: Football/Soccer
The simple answer is that more of the administrators, school boards, students and community members care more about the football programs than they do about the soccer programs. I'm not sure that we can use Title IX to guarantee all athletic programs get equal support— just that they get enough supp...

Re: Crowd Conduct
I don't think the athletic directors should get hit with a fine, they can't help that they have a few fans who are jackasses. Every team has at least one or two. If you really want it to stop just have the deputy sheriffs across the state step up and start charging them with disorderly conduct a mi...

Re: Crowd Conduct
Forfeits for poor spectator behavior isn't practical in the moment. Like Larry Fine is getting at, how does the referee know 100% which team the problem spectator is on? Even more of an issue, in my mind, is that it raises the bar of tolerance before a referee would decide to stop a game for poor be...

There was just an incident in Piketon over the last few days where a dad was big mad at a referee of a Junior High game for an ejection and put the official's full name on blast on Facebook. The popular " Offside " page caught wind of it and it looks like their 100k+ followers *encouraged...
