First off, kudos to you and thank you for being an official. It is a thankless and difficult job. The pay should be higher and admins should do all they can to make sure you are all respected at games. Secondly, I have a question: Why are officials letting the game become too physical? One thing that might help the officials is to make sure most if not all of your bad calls go on the visiting team. Especially late in the game. That way the home folks will be more likely to help protect you from the harassers.

I’ve never had to do any stomping or staring or anything like that. I just make sure the officials know before the game that I was D1 and that’s good for a lot of calls, as it should be.

I’ve never complained or done anything mentioned above about any call that has been in favor of my team. Ever. Food for thought.
