Re: Chesapeake Wrestling 2009-10
Anybody got a Peake wrestling schedule? I would love to make a few matches since I'm moving back to town.

Re: OVC 09-10 Scores and Standings
They should have saved the $50 they spent on the PA system. I had no idea what they were saying, haven't heard that much scratching on the mike since I went to a rap concert.

Re: Who do you think Marshalls next head football coach will be?
According to the paper Hamrick wants a quick hire. Hopefully not a quick hire of a guy off the current staff. My pick is the guy at JMU or Tommy West.

Re: Is snyder done at Marshall?
Why would any of those guys take a pay cut to come to Marshall, even a good assistant a major is making more than Snyder. They have to step up their pay scale to draw in a winner. As for Snyder I hear M.R. has to pony up the buyout money if Marshall is to get rid of him this year.

Re: Top 10 Wr In OVC History?
Who were the recievers at Oak Hill when Rick Clark was there and they ran the Fun n' Gun? They could haul some mail. One of the better recievers at Chesapeake was DL McWhorter who was used in the flex position, because of his blocking, hands, and speed.

Re: Computer points over the years
I always hear the young guys on hear talk about making the playoffs, but if you look at how many teams went from each region back when there was only 3 divisions and then look at who would have gone if they took the 8 they take now. SEO would have been well represented in those days. A lot harder to...

Re: OVC Rock Hill (0-6) @ Chesapeake (0-6)
After that display of football by the Peake someones head needs to roll. They were out coached. Hell at least tell the up back to fair catch the ball. Also, if the other team is throwing the ball play something other than cover 2. The coaching staff should stay after practice and run gassers they we...

Blue Knights take down the might Dayton Flyers
Hot darn, the Blue Knights of Urbana University beat Dayton last week. I can remember the day a ragtag bunch of kids from UU went to Dayton and played them tough for a quarter and a half before injuries started to take its toll. We dressed 27 that day and Dayton dressed 124. Go Knights!

Re: Chesapeake Wrestling 2009-10
The Peake wrestling program has been good for a long time. Go back through the years and you will see some great wrestlers who have walked the halls of CHS: Bill Houston (fastest pin in school history - 9 sec), Chitwood (can't remember his first name, I think it was Danny), Danny Hayes, Ronnie Best,...

Re: Chesapeake 39 Symmes Valley 33 3OT's
I heard it was a great game. But, I have to say something about the conditioning speak on hear. Playing quarters do not get the kids in condition to play late in a game. Conditioning comes from the summer workouts and staying in condition comes with hard work during the week. Playing doesn't get you...

6 man football is big in NC, they even have a state championship game. It is very fun to watch. This would be great idea for St. Joe to look at.

Re: Fairland v Chesapeake
fuzz, wasn't saying 75 wasn't a tie between Fairland and the Peake, someone had asked about the series and didn't know what happened that year. Fairland's only conference loss was to the Peake and we lost to Rock Hill who had beaten eventual state champ Greenup County the week before, our only other...

Re: Fairland v Chesapeake
Best team in Peake history is '61, next would have to be '84, then you have a tie between '75 & '99. '84 was the strongest team the Peake ever put on the field. All starters benched over 300lb. Matt was benching 500 and Dru was the weakiest at 320. Yeah, '99 sent more to school, but (for the mos...

Re: What "team" walks a 12yr old 4 straight times????
When I was catching in LL I would call for pitches inside about chin high, maybe once or twice then we'd throw one out on the corner. All according to what his feet and hands were telling me. Not to many HR hitters when I was behind the plate. I do remember walking a guy that was playing minor leagu...

If a teacher wants it the teacher gets it, qualified or not. The thing is if they aren't qualified in most cases I would doubt they would apply.

Re: Who is the best shooter ever played for your High School?
At the Peake the best was Randy Hall, Charlie Camp, Mark D'Antoni, Dale Russell, and of course Tammy Wood. I'm sure there are others, but all these played before there was any 3-point line. At Coal Grove without a doubt the best shooter to ever come out of there was Chuck "How Many Do I Have&qu...

Re: Ironton News - Ironton's Newest Athletic Director
Actually the answer to your question would if the K teacher wants the job and no onw else from within applies, then she gets the job. Ohio shool board law, they have to hire from within first.
