An Ode to High School Football
It is called high school football and it’s a special season around here. It’s in the air. It’s the chill of evening, the smell of hot dogs, the glare of lights, the sounds of cheering. It is old timers who can remember when and youngsters who dream of their day coming soon. It’s a time to mi...
Re: The Swamp
I think it is an individual thing. Just let it go for now and see what personality it develops. I'm sure people will coalesce around a nickname (how about that word?).
Re: The Swamp
Sorry. Didn't go to school in Logan. Just don't have that same sentimental value attached like you guys do.
Re: The Swamp
Since no one bought the naming rights, I always wondered why they didn't call it Bill Sauer II.
Re: The Swamp
Still like "The Chief". It's new, just like the field. The Swamp is too connected to that rathole in Gainesville!

Re: logan vs lancaster
I've got my Chieftain Football shirt on already. I'll be making my way up Route 13 about 5:00. Varsity should hit the field at 7:00.

GO SEOAL, THOUGH.
Yea, and Army was once a college powerhouse, too. Elvis had a lot of hit records but I haven't heard too many new ones from him lately either.

Re: logan vs lancaster
Do we really believe both these teams are going to go to the spread right off the bat? Both have run too well in their traditional sets to abandon it for the spread. The difference is both teams have a dangerous quarterback pulling the trigger. Let's just hope for no more injuries.

Re: 2008 SEOAL Previews: Logan Chieftains
The defense is speedy. Sports Illustrated just ran an article detailing how smaller but faster D-linemen can help slow the spread offense. They do this by disrupting the timing of the spread. That is what you are going to see from Logan this year. On offense, don't underestimate those boys taking ot...

Re: 2008 SEOAL Previews: Logan Chieftains
Great breakdown, Locos. Should be an exciting season. Of course, the first game will be the toughest. I still think Logan plays hard and either beats or scares them pretty good. Look for another playoff run.

Re: Week 1 ~ Gallia Academy @ Athens
Well, since Athens backed out of their obligations for two more games against Logan and left the Chiefs scrambling to fill the void, I hope Gallia waxes 'em. All in good fun, of course.

Re: Logan/Circleville scrimmage
Maybe it was just me but I didn't think we did that well trying to run outside. But the power stuff up the middle was great. There were some real holes opened up on a couple of those plays.

Re: Logan/Circleville scrimmage
Defense looked great. Offense had a little too many mistakes and penalties for my liking but that's to be expected for the first scrimmage. I liked the way Logan spread the formations on offense. There was no running outside on our defense; great lateral pursuit. But, like Locos said, I think we'll ...

Re: An Early Look at the SEOAL: The 2008 Logan Chieftains
Come back in from the ledge and put down the sharp instruments. While this hurts and is no doubt a setback, this team is plenty deep and talented. The biggest problem is the line has to develop a chemistry. The good news is this happened now and not right before the first game. People will have to s...

More from the injury bug. David Schneider is now out with a broken leg-femur I think. He will miss Logan's pre-league games.
Re: The Swamp
I called it "The Chief" a couple of weeks ago. Guess I'll stick with that.
