Re: EXPANDED PLAYOFFS : Who really benefits going forward ?
That last sentence is all that needs to be written about this. It's all about the OHSAA making money. Well, you are correct, money is important. There would be no HS sports if the OHSAA did not have millions in reserve to whether 11 months with no income and no debt. Could your place of empl...

Re: The State title games should ALWAYS be in The Shoe
I’m for having it in Columbus. I’ve always heard the argument that not every kid is an OSU fan, but I would have rather had the chance play in the shoe than in some high school stadium in Canton or Massillon. My idea which would probably never happen is try to have all NCAA D1 Ohio schools and Beng...

OHIO is not letting ANY outside groups on campus.FANOSPORTS wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 8:04 pmTrue but they held playoff games at OU years ago and it is a great venue.formerfcfan wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 6:22 pm Lancaster, which would be at 819 under the 15% rule, would be the better host for a hypothetical Ironton-Ridgewood as OU would likely not host.

Re: Ironton’s Carrico Front Runner for Mr. Football in Ohio
Zanesville is in the East District and is not considered either SE or Southern Ohio. With your logic Morgan and Fort Frye don’t count  Not my logic, they are geographically EASTERN Ohio. You can call them SE all you want, it can be your opinion, however technically you are simply just plain ol...

Re: EXPANDED PLAYOFFS : Who really benefits going forward ?
I personally think letting all teams into the playoffs makes it not as meaningful as it once was. I know back in the day they only allowed 4 but I think 8 is where it needs to be. Next year when they allow 12, those who are ranked 13-16 will then argue “why can’t we be in too?”. In my opinion, it’s...

Buster Howe Zanesville was the first MR Football. Went to Ohio State. As a senior in 1987, he rushed for 1,795 yards (6.9 yards per carry) and scored 34 touchdowns. As a single wing back, he added 431 passing yards. He also had eight interceptions, three field goals, 38 extra points and averaged 40...

Interesting comment: Pat Houseworth October 8, 2020 at 1:53 pm This corrupt organization should be disbanded and start anew, with new leadership. The OHSAA is a corrupt, heavy handed outfit, that is only interested in power and lining it’s pockets, not interested at all in the promoting of Student ...

Re: Will OHSAA Do Right By Their Fans? Streaming
Since the OHSAA is getting 100% of the gate my guess is they open it up to maybe 50% capacity, that's if everyone can abide by the rules that is. Mask wearing being the top priority which has been a huge problem. You realize the 15% thing is NOT an OHSAA decision, but the governor of Ohio’s decisio...

Re: OHSAA To 'Tighten Purse Strings'...Local Schools Districts To Be Impacted
Some things I need to research before I will make a comment on this issue. 1. Is the Ohsaa a non profit organization, and are they allowed to maintain a positive balance, like schools do for a rainy day fund? 2. Will the Ohsaa be making cuts to staff and other potential money saving decisions. 3. W...

The regional and state dual team wrestling tournaments will be suspended for the 2020-21 school year(although the 83rdseason of the individual wrestling tournaments will continue). Not sure I understand Why on this one? It's not like they are having a TAG TEAM match and all wrestlers are going at o...

Any of these place allowing people in to watch? Based on what I'm seeing I think the Governor said no fans at scrimmages. I've yet to see an announcement that doesn't go out of its way to say NO FANS. Just keep falling further and further down the rabbit hole with the announcements. We can stuff 40...

Howard, what your saying is from February to June(4 months) you got (15-18 year old playing) then turn around only 4-5 weeks away you start fall football for 2021 for the junior, Sophs freshman from August to Nov. (4 months) so these young men in 11 months are playing a physical game 8 months out o...

Most simple answer is,it’s going to take the Governor allowing it, and at this point, don’t hold your breath.
After all, all school sports facilities are closed now until June 30th.
