Re: The future of grass fields
Process has begun at Northwest. Old concession torn down.CE109442-B498-4486-A9EE-8C5BD9EA442A.jpeg I don’t know why they are spending that kind of money. They only win a couple games a yr. they need find a coach and keep their players there instead of transferring Because our kids deserve a top not...

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies
Our school actually has adopted that if you are a school employee, certified or classified, you are eligible for a three year contract. Supplementals are non union negotiated.

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies
I know most coaches are on one year contracts, however, I don't know how common it is to have to reapply. Usually, unless there is question as to whether the coach should be retained by the board, they are simply renewed.

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
OMG it’s a rule folks. The official knowingly broke the rule. IMO Whiteoak put the official in a bad position, but he should have followed the rule. If it’s true that WO wanted to wear their “Lucky Jersey” that’s all the more reason to not allow it. Yeah, we know. There are a bevy of rules that are...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
What I would like to know is, will the school, the coach, the AD and anyone else that signed off on this, and knew what the rule was, will there be some kind of a penalty yet to be determined for them ? Whether the official made the right decision or not, if the school, the coach and whoever had no...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
Perhaps the OHSAA handed down the punishment not based on the severity of the rule being broke, but for the amount of stupidity it required to break it. They probably looked at the situation and said the same thing I did "are you f'ing kidding me?" Who in their right mind (a) asks to wear...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this. I feel the punishment is extremely out of bounds, others do not. That's fine. I just feel that if said official had a track record of issues, OK. As far as I know, that's not close to the case here.

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
If the official would have simply followed the rule and told the school "no, wear your whites like all the other teams" we wouldn't be having this discussion. Perhaps. We can argue about rules all day long. My point, from the inception of this thread, was that the punishment does not fit ...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
I get that rules exist for a reason. However, should each rule be enforced by the book? Should every bump be called? Should every time a coach is a step out of the coaches box be a technical? I think reasonable minds can say they don't want that. There are many styles of officials. They interpret a...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
This thread will get uglier until someone spills who reported it. Someone important is my guess I wouldn't say it's ugly. I just think people lack the use of common sense, which is what I believe all three officials used in this instance. Also, I don't think it would do any good to air someone out ...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
And by NFHS rule 10-6-4 the game should have began with a direct technical foul applied to the head coach of Whiteoak. Which did not happen. I didn't claim mistakes weren't made. I did claim that the punishment seems just a bit much sir. I'm sure you know this official. You know his reputation and ...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
It’s called civility. Common sense. This is why I’m not in favor of governing bodies. I guess I’ll bever understand this world. The official did the right thing letting the kids play and he’s punished for it. SMH I’m not disagreeing with you..... only throwing in another point It has been said that...

Re: Official Suspended by OHSAA
Question is: who was the site coordinator and did that individual have knowledge of the situation prior to the contest? This has happened two years in a row now. Something seems a little off to me.
