Re: D3 East Sectional Final 8. Coshocton (8-15) vs 5. Fort Frye (16-7)

Re: The State of High School Sports
I think Bobcat QB said it best. “Kids Don’t play outside anymore and don’t work on their own to improve their skills “. AAU May be a part of problem but I believe as long as they’re playing ball of any sorts, shootouts summer league....that’s a positive. The lack of skills, ball handling, jump shot...

Re: Licking County League expansion
With the recent MVL expansion, I heard there is a fine if any MVL school leaves in the next ten years. I'm not sure, but I think it starts out at $10,000 and drops $1,000 each year over the ten years. That is what I heard. If I'm wrong, please let me know. It's actually $20,000 w/ $2,000 increments...

Re: Licking County League expansion
Actually, more MVL schools are increasing in enrollment over the last decade, and continue to rise today. Everyone knows Zville should not be D3 based on true number of boys. I think Newark would benefit from joining from a scheduling standpoint but they would be outliers in regards to size. How are...

Re: Zanesville to LCL
Hey bobcatQB, like I said in another post on here, since the PVC is all but done, add Fort Frye to the small school division of the mvl and then add Cambridge to the big school division Agree in regards to competiveness, hell FF would probably dominate the small division in most sports but I believe...

Re: The State of High School Sports
I want to jump in and make a comment on travel ball. I have watched hundreds of OYB and AAU games . At first I thought this is great . You play high level teams to better your game . About 5 years ago my opinion changed . Do not get me wrong playing better competition will improve your game . There...

Re: Zanesville to LCL
MVL will be: Large: Tri Valley Sheridan Maysville RIver View John Glenn Philo Small: byesville Morgan Coshocton New Lexington West Muskingum Crooksville Adding the 3 ECOL schools makes the MVL much better when broken down into two divisions. Eliminates the issues of larger schools playing the smalle...

Re: Zanesville to LCL
I understand Meadowbrook has had a couple of really good seasons, but adding Meadowbrook, River View and Coshocton isn't exactly making the MVL THAT much more competitive. Tri Valley is a D1 member of the central district in most sports. They do not receive any respect when it comes to seeding for ...

Re: Zanesville to LCL
Logan has been trying to get in the LCL for years. The Logan AD has a good relationship with their leadership. They obviously don't want Logan in the league or Logan would already be a member. Maybe Zanesville changes that, but I'm done getting my hopes up about Logan to the LCL. Can't see LCL want...

Re: The State of High School Sports
Everyone has made good points in this discussion. Like most, I agree with many of the points. Having played, coached, officiated, and organized youth, HS, and college sports, I think the current state of HS sports is influenced mostly because of media. Social and network media has grown so ridiculo...

Re: Zanesville to LCL
Zanesville has been trying to leave the ECOL since it joined. Aronholt and the rest of the administration like to try and push their weight around, so this is no surprise. I'm sure they will try and do the same in LCL and when they find it doesn't work there either, they will try somewhere else. Is ...

Re: Best High School Player(s) You've Seen
Favorite high school player to watch at the Convo? Gotta be Geno Ford! Only got to watch him the regionals - but boy he was fun to watch. What school did he to to? Didn't he play at OU? I think Cambridge Yes he went to Cambridge, played w/ him his Freshman year. Best overall for me was Jay Burson f...

Stopped by and watched last night, Rosecrans has a really solid team. Only 6 guys play but they get after it....
