I would hope the Streaks come ready to play. Wheelersburg has to be considered the odds-on favorites based on their recent tournament success. For Piketon to win, they have to play team ball, and they must continue to spread the wealth on offense.

A key for the Streaks is establishing the inside game. Both Breitenbach and Southworth are playing well, so some dribble penetration and dishing off by Legg and Daniels should lead to some easy buckets for these two. If Brabson and Smith look for more inside shots, Piketon should win easily. I don't...

I predicted 12-13 wins at the beginning of the season. When they were 8-2, I thought my prediction would be low. Losing to Greenfield, Huntington twice and Mifflin at home hurt, but not as much as the other 3 losses-SE, ZT, and Adena, all on the road, and by a total of 10 points. Those 3, I think, s...

eagles, I'm sure many of the Streaks still have nightmares of Adena's #34 running over them!

Alot of time between now and start of next season. Looking forward to seeing what the Streaks can do.

The defense played several young kids last year. How many first year starters were there, 6 or 7 or so? How many of those were underclassmen? I'm sure the coaches have evaluated what went right and what went wrong last season, and are exploring what changes to make. While I don't know Coach Rockwell...

Please don't believe everything you read on this site or any other. Just because it was posted by a fan doesn't mean there's any truth to it. Coach Rockwell knows there were people upset by the overall play of the defense last year, and there have been fans wondering why player A wasn't playing here...

If Rockwell is being replaced, it's news to him. I believe this rumor was started by someone who wants his job.

No, I don't think he is. But again, I've only seen him play once, so my opinion is based on that game and that game alone, the same as my opinion of the Kellough boys. Now, I've seen Piketon play 7 or 8 times this year, and, while they have some good talent, as individuals, I don't think they have a...

downtown22, The only games that I have Adena and Huntington play were at Piketon. Again, based on these games only, I would put both Kelloughs above Roll for OVERALL play- offense including but not limited to scoring; defense including but not limited to willingness to defend; and demeanor before, d...

At the Westfall-Waverly playoff game this past fall, I saw a spectator who acted like I do at Piketon's games. He wasn't using profanity, nor do I, but he was yelling at the refs and the opposing coaches like they were going to,listen to him and he was going to change the outcome of the game. After ...

I've seen Roll and the Kellough boys play once each, and I would put both of the Kellough boys, due to all-around play, above Roll. I know that one game doesn't give me the full story, but that is all I can base my opinion on. By the way, in the game I saw Roll, he acted like he was THE gift to the ...

Westfall @ Piketon 1/29

Can the Streaks rebound from consecutive losses and regroup against the Mustangs? Based on what I saw from them this past weekend, the Streaks still have room for improvement. Against Huntington on Friday, I saw a team that wilted when things started going against them. The Huntsmen were quicker, an...

The Flyers are definitely in a bit of a funk. Teams are putting immense pressure on Brian Roberts, and none of the others, except for Marcus Johnson, are filling the gap. Having Wright and Little out is taking away from their rebounding and defense. Hopefully UD will right the ship and continue towa...

Better get there early, as seating will be at a premium. I'll have my reserved seat, though. Hope the Piketon fans get into it from the start.

I've been attending UD football games for 35 years, and Mike Kelly is as class an act as there is. He is as fine a person as he is a coach. His overall record is as much a reflection of the quality of players he had as it is his coaching ability, and he would be the first to agree. I'm sure Rick Cha...

I only saw two of his games this year, but based on them, I can't imagine why the MAC, at least, isn't after him. 6'6", 215 or so, a cannon for a right arm, and some speed in his steps, and he is still waiting? Whoever gets him is getting a steal. I wish he would have gone 5 miles south for hig...

From my new vantage point this year, I have gained a new respect for the men in stripes. It is easy to sit on your fanny and criticize, but it's another to be out on the floor and make a split-second decision. Fouls and violations could be called on almost every play during a game. The ones I like a...

The Streaks have 8 months of work to do before the season starts. Coach Gullion will have many options available to him on both sides of the ball. Hopefully this causes competition, and increased effort and hard work. As a PHS alum, I wish all of the Streaks the best, and want them to represent the ...

Fortunately for the Streaks, they have about 9 months and 6 or 7 games (plus scrimmages) before they have to face either Westfall or Adena. I think the SVC overall will be improved. Westfall, with their losses, will come back to the field a bit. Adena, with Barnes, has to be considered a threat. Pik...

Piketon has to establish the inside game in order to win this one. I think they are stronger and have a height advantage, and need to use these to their advantage. Use the 3-pointer as the proverbial nail in the coffin.
