Wow! I knew they were Division III this year but didn’t know about their interest in going to the SOC II. I’m not sure that is a good idea.

I think it will be difficult for them to compete year-in and year-out against the schools in the SOC - II.

Wheelersburg will once again win the league. I think the real question is will they go 10-0. Watterson is the only real question mark. Heath got hit with graduation. Unless they are upset in the Regionals again, they should be in the State Semi-Finals.

Surprised that Fitch gave up his administrative position at Eastern to go back into coaching. What is he going to be teaching at Western. If I remember correctly, Western does not allow administrators to coach so he will have to go back to the classroom.

Western?

Wellington's center is pretty good but Waterford has the advantage at every other position. Waterford should win this game and set-up an All-SE District Regional final.

It would not be an upset if Clay won this game. To be honest, Clay should win this game. I anticipate Waterford will win in the other semi-final game. I can see an all SE District Regional Final.

After watching both teams I believe Waterford is the more skilled team. I think the size and shooting ability of Waterford will be too much.

Of course I have only seen Eastern once so maybe they had a bad night on Tuesday.

We will see tomorrow.

First time seeing Eastern this year. I was impressed with their defensive pressure. On the flip side, they are going to have to finish interior shots moving forward. I would think Waterford will be a very difficult match-up for them.

Coach Caldwell has proved he is a good coach. But on the flip side Coach Fenton has approved he is one of the top young coaches in southern Ohio. This game is more about players than coaches. The coaches are very close in abilities.

The players that play the best on Wednesday will win.

I have to give South Webster administration and community a lot of credit. They made a commitment to the athletic program they already have and are not interested in spreading themselves to thin. It was a good decision for the kids and the community.

Jackson's coach is doing a great job of turning their program around.

The Brown kid is a special player. He puts a lot of pressure on defenses because of his ability to play off the dribble. East has shooters in Lowe, Shope and Flannery. Add in the present of Scott and Burton at the post, they are very talented on offense. I would be surprised if anybody can hold them...

Burg will have no problem against Minford. Minford is rebuilding after the great run they have had the past 3 or & 4 years. The real question is how will Burg fair against the top half of the league.

On the flip side, S.W. has a chance to be very good.

Let's not take anything away from South Webster. They are very well coached and have some very good players. S.W. went into Wheelersburg and earned the win. It was not a case where Wheelersburg played bad and SW played good. SW made Wheelersburg play badly. Congrats on the Win!!

I have to agree with the other posters on this topic. The gap between southern Ohio football and the rest of the state is very large. There are rare occasions (Athens & Trimble) where a southern Ohio team can compete with the other regions but it is very rare.
