Any updates?? Was not able to get to Nelsonville this evening due to being in Chillicothe with my youngest son at the Orthodontist.

Vinton County with a 3 game sweep of Athens tonight. Freshman and JV both won by around 15 and the varsity Vikes put it on the Bulldogs with a convincing 78-52 win on their home court. Team played a great all around game tonight.

Vinton County looked impressive with a dominating 78-52 win over Athens. Refs let alot of contact go and it almost got out of hand at the end!! Good game Vikes!!!

Any updates and final scores??

Looking forward to the 2011-2012 season. Heard that Jordan Kidd, a junior, is back and will be rejoining the Vikings after a couple of years in Wooster. Heard he is 6-4 now. If true, he will be a great addition to the Vikings!!!!

I saw Athens play a few weeks ago and I think they are by far the best team I have seen play this year. Looking forward to trying to go and see the Athens/Nelsonville game next week. I think Athens should win over Wellston, (without Prater with no problems). Sharp is the real deal!!!

Roush is one of the better players I have seen this year. Glad to hear his ankle is not broken. Meigs will need him to beat Alexander and make a run for the playoffs. Don't think Vinton County can beat them, but I think it will be closer than people think!! 28-18 Meigs

Wellston lost 21-12. Meigs ran a interception back for a td as Wellston was driving late in the game. Heard Prater broke his ankle. Not sure though, I know it was a leg injury

If you knew VC basketball, inexperienced meant that of the 8 seniors that graduated, only 2 of them (Lawhead and Ward) had any true varsity experience before this season. Next year we will have Chesser, Remy and Batey return for the Vikes with ample varsity experience.

Once again, from what I have read, the charity stripe did the vikes in again. In the 3 games(2 I watched personally) that VC lost this year by 1 point, they missed 7+ free throws during those games. VC did come out cold and did not really play to their defensive capabilities until they were down 14. Looked really good the last 6 minutes of the game. It did not make a difference in the game. At the end of the 3rd quarter, fouls were, VC 7 and Wellston 1. Whoever he was, he was not biased...

The sweetest part of the game was when Derrow continuously eyeballed the ref during a timeout and they T'd him up. Vinton County played an awesome 3rd quarter and put a close game out of reach. Prayers from Vinton County. We just went through this last week with two young men killed in an accident. Keep close to your kids, they might not act like they need you at times, but in times like this they do!!
