After reading this thread I have a couple of points to make: The coaching at West (only the 2nd year) has completely changed the way the kids work out in preseason to the way they carry themselves on the field. That stuff takes time. Also, there is not a single poster from West on any of these thre...

2 SOC 2 teams should host 1st rd games, a 3rd should make it. Could be some interesting rematches come playoff time.

First off I didn't mention any kid by name. second, your not getting it, that kind of stuff doesn't happen other places. You can blow it off and try to justify it by saying it does but it doesn't.

To buldog, You played at West and now route for the Burg? I hope there are extreme circumstances for that. By the way I also played under Tipton his first time around. I started on that 90' team that went 10-1 with the loss to Ironton in the playoffs. So trust me I know all to well the changes at W...

This will be the first head to head meeting at the varsity level for 2 very talented soph qbs. It should lead to some great matchups the next 3 yrs.

If your from West apparently you shouldn't have any confidence in them. I'm not from West but i have seen them play and they are the best team i've seen this year so far. That used to happen alot just a few yrs ago until they went to 8 teams per region.

There were only 3 divisions back then compared to 6 now. I think only 8 teams per div made the playoffs then compared to 32 now. So your talking a total of 24 teams in the 70's made it, compared to 192 now.

Neither D could stop the others O. I thought SP's O really beat up the burg's D, really physical. The burgs O played a nice game. The officiating was terrible. SP has some very good, hard running backs.

I think another first yr burg coach won at the tank in the late 90's.

I don't know how you could watch the burgs D in week 1 and not be impressed. They gave Ironton fits. To hold ironton to 189 total yds is very impressive.

Yeah congrats to Minford for beating River Valley...i didnt know they even had a team...when they play a team like Ironton then I will be supportive of them maybe winning the SOC II. They play alot better teams in the future and until they prove themselves agaisnt a better team i dont see them winn...

I watched it about 10 times and its hard to tell but to me it looks like the left foot was in.

turnovers put ironton down in the 1st half and turnovers let them back in it in the 2nd half.
