Portsmouth played its best game of the year with a resounding 69-51 win at Ironton. The Trojans at one point in the game had a 24 point lead.

I don't know what happened to my original post.....but I'll give it another try........ I didn't feel good going into this game.......missing 2 starters, Ironton playing well as of late, Senior Night at IHS...... I told quite a few people before the game that I felt we would lose......and WAS I WRON...

I did not feel good about the Trojans winning this game......missing 2 starters, and with the Tigers playing well as of late......... I told Tigertownturkey, Rhiannon, and Butcherman108 before the game that we wouldn't win.........and I'M GLAD I WAS WRONG!! WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE!! OUR TROJANS PRO...

The SEOAL has two teams WAY ABOVE everybody else in SE Ohio....Chillicothe and Zanesville. There are also 2 teams that are good but don't get very much publicity.....Warren and Logan. Portsmouth played ZHS, Warren, Logan, and Chillicothe on the road, with only Chillicothe as a home game. Portsmouth ...

Always look forward to seeing our Trojans battle the Fighting Tigers......Ironton has won 13 in a row, and we are long overdue....... However.......looks like we will be missing 2 starters tomorrow night.....Anthony Williams will be serving the 2nd game of a 2 game suspension, and Cory Reeves' knee ...

Seriously, we need to get Anthony Williams and Cory Reeves back. Williams should be back after the Ironton game, but Reeves status is uncertain.....he is supposed to get his knee examined. We need to be at full strength when we play the Pioneers. If not, it's without question a more dicey situation....

I don't eat bratwurst at the football tailgate, and I prefer salad over a steak anyday......so I don't qualify to sit in the man box.............

I really love my new seat...........the coaches NEVER listen to me......... :-D

Maltese Falcon: You are right in that you want your team to play at least a competitive game even in a loss. But I would still want my Trojans to play Zanesville and get drilled than lose narrowly to a team that is not half as good as the Blue Devils. It exposes your weaknesses as true weaknesses wi...

Congratulations to the Blue Devils on the overwhelming win. They started the game with a 11-0 ZHS run, but the next 50 points were split by each team and ZHS held a 36-25 lead. At one point Zanesville actually called a timeout to regroup as the Trojans had a chance to cut the lead under 10. Zanesvil...

Portsmouth has yet another tough task ahead of them as they travel to Zanesville to battle the Blue Devils. FalconFan said it the best......the Trojans need to play 4 good quarters of basketball. If they don't, it won't be pretty on the scoreboard. Still, I think this schedule down the stretch just ...

Hitchbone64: I would LOVE to see Chillicothe and Zanesville on the DOC, but I have to be faithful to my Trojans as we will host either Logan or Warren.

But I will see you in the tourney somewhere.....and we can talk some basketball!!

oldtrojan: Good to see you on SEOPS. I don't know the whole schedule right now, but I talked to Curt Clifford last night at the Chillicothe game and he told me that the first game of the year is South Point.....not sure whether it's a home game or not. The last game of the year is vs. Western Brown,...

The Pointers have had a great season, going undefeated so far. This is a strong year for the OVC, so what they have done is quite impressive.

If........Portsmouth can play 4 consistent quarters vs. the Pioneers, they have an excellent chance of advancing. The main problem for the Trojans this year has been inconsistent play......but not talent. What is encouraging is that in the last several games, PHS has played much better defense than ...

I think that after being an eyewitness to Warren beating my Portsmouth Trojans, the Warriors are good enough to advance to the regionals with a good tourney draw. They play very unselfish basketball. They are not on the level of Chillicothe and Zanesville, but they are the 3rd best team in the SEOAL...

Congratulations to the Warriors on the win; they pulled away in the final 3 minutes and the Trojans went cold from the field and could not answer Warren's charge. It was my first time seeing Warren and I think they are a nice ball club.....good enough to go to the regionals in D2. I actually thought...

This game starts a rugged 5 game stretch to the end of the regular season. @Warren tomorrow, H with Chillicothe Tuesday, @Zanesville next Friday, @Ironton the following Tuesday, and then PHS closes with the Day Of Champions on Sat.Feb.9 at home vs. either Warren or Logan. The Warriors will be a toug...
