Re: 2019-20 Boys Basketball Stats

If you're going to include 1,000 point scorers, Matthew Fraulini ended his Trojan career with 1,096 points, tied for 7th all time at PHS.

Good job, Mattash. It's not easy to keep track of so many teams' records, offensive and defensive numbers.

Re: Updated Paint Valley Basketball Records

Very good info on Paint Valley basketball. I am responsible for the historical information on www.trojanhoops.org, and I know how hard and time consuming it can be to put together a basketball history for a school. Great job!!

Re: I declare Fairland State Champions!

If the OHSAA somehow conducts the basketball state championships, then all the Elite 8 teams should be advanced to the state tournament. No regional championship games. Just start the state tournament earlier in the week. Maybe it's not possible to format it that way, and it probably won't happen an...

Re: 3 Week Shutdown

Ironman92: At some point, the government is going to leave it up to local school officials to make the call on a return to school, especially when the virus is not as widespread as it is now. Some areas (like heavy urban areas) are being hit harder than others, so they may need more than 3 weeks to ...

Re: Fairland 68 Ridgewood 58 a final

Nice recap, pfloyd. It's a shame that Fairland's season came to an end with this game. As least they went out with a win. The represented the OVC and the SE district like a true champion.

Re: 3 Week Shutdown

It will be very interesting to see when the green light is given by the medical profession and the government as to when normal activities can resume. I wonder if there is a certain number or threshold of cases in which there is no longer considered a pandemic. If the economic impact continues for m...

Re: The OVC in 2020-2021

JFLRADIO Big Mor: Fairland has a great program, the best tournament record of any school in the SE district over the last 4 years, but in today's basketball, it's hard to project how good a team will be 3-4 years from now. With the common occurrence of transfers in and transfers out, a team can get ...

Re: 3/14 Fairland vs. Harvest Prep - Regional Final

Fairland only needs to win once; it's not a 7 game series. They've come to the regional final playing Fairland basketball, methodical yet efficient. Harvest Prep will be a tough opponent, but I've watched the Dragons enough to know that they are capable of winning this game. FHS has played a good no...

Re: Amazing Statistic About SE District Final 4 Wins

Pol Pot: Sheridan did indeed make the Final 4 last year, but they didn't win their semifinal game. As I replied to Jimmy the Greek, the thread is about Final 4 wins, not appearances, but I cut some slack to the SHAC because they don't have any Final 4 wins, the only conference of the 6 that doesn't ...

Re: The OVC in 2020-2021

fan of basketball: I watched Coal Grove 3 times, 2 of them without Corey Borders, and not having him definitely hurt the Hornets. CG may have a lot coming back, but to lose two of their top scorers is the reason I have CG preseason 7th. My Portsmouth Trojans started 3 sophomores, played 5 sophomores...

Re: Amazing Statistic About SE District Final 4 Wins

Jimmy the Greek: The list I have provided includes only wins in the Final 4. The reason I listed the appearances for the SHAC in the Final 4 was because it is the only league of the 6 that has never had a win in the Final 4, so I gave them credit for at least having some teams that made it there.

Re: OHSAA Final Four in Jeopardy (Coronovirus)?

Just looked at the www.khsaa.org website and it has a press release which states that the KHSAA Sweet 16 state tournament will go on as planned with no restrictions on scheduled games or fan attendance, but officials are monitoring the coronavirus news as it evolves.

Re: OHSAA Final Four in Jeopardy (Coronovirus)?

Orange and Brown: There probably will be quite a few school districts that will follow Athens' City Schools directive. Just look this past basketball regular season when many districts shut down due to regular flu outbreaks. I remember back in 2000 when the Y2K panic spread around the world......and...

Re: Amazing Statistic About SE District Final 4 Wins

Ironman92: Whiteoak and Eastern Brown were in the 2002 state tournament, not 2001. Their games are listed on www.ohsaa.org in the 2002 results. Eastern Brown lost to Columbus Bishop Ready 80-62, while Whiteoak lost to Russia 58-46. Ready lost to Bellville Clear Fork and Russia lost to Delphos St.Joh...

Amazing Statistic About SE District Final 4 Wins

The Portsmouth Trojans have 12 wins in the Final 4, with the most recent coming in the 2012 D3 state semifinals, that being a 74-66 win over Ottawa-Glandorf. That was the last Final 4 win by a SE district school. Since then, 4 schools, Ironton (2013), Warren (2013), Lynchburg Clay (2016), and Fairla...

Re: Trimble vs Grandview.

Coach Howie will have his Tomcats well prepared. Just like Peebles, Trimble comes in as the underdog, but it's not a 7 game series. Only 1 win needed to advance to the regional championship.
