Re: AAU Changes

AAU is not all that it is cracked up to be. It does promote individualism and often reinforces bad habits depending upon the coach. My advice to young talent with college potential is this: Identify (or have your coach identify) the weakness in your game and work non-stop on your weakness through pr...

Re: Your Schools All-Time Starting 5

Minford best 5

1. Randy Smith
2. PJ Fitch
3. Steve Yeagle
4. Eli Parkes
5. Darren Lebrun

John Strickland did an outstanding job at shaping these outstanding players!

Re: WEST BASKETBALL

Ward will leave the program in a mess as he always does. Take from this eagle fan, the Hornets last year played with very little class against Eastern-pike!

As for the West side, wish them the best of luck.

Who did they hire?

Re: SOC-1 Favorite to win the league

Tartanblue,

What do you know about the move-in?

And you are right, with the JV team that East has, they will not be an easy out either!

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009

I hope some give it a shot. If soccer doesn't fly...then its time to look at football. I know it is expensive, but how many kids does the District have to lose before it finds a way???

Now, lets get bacl on track and discuss Eagle hoops!

SOC-1 Favorite to win the league

As I stated earlier, this is my assessment of the SOC 1 next season. I think Western will be tough again with Shanks, Smithson, and the point guard returning, but losing Kier will hurt them. Eastern-Pike has everyone back I believe, but stuggled last season. Symmes Valley has one of the Tibbs boys b...

Re: Piketon Redstreaks looking for a new coach

WE all make mistakes and nobody is throwing rocks. However, if it doesn't work in round #2, Piketon will look foolish. We all deserve second chances, but in coaching that rarely comes in the same place.

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009

I see what you mean. Talent always makes coaches look good. Lack of talent always causes coaches to get often an undeserved amount of criticism from the "bleacher" coaches. how did you feel our new coach out here done last season? Compared to Symmes Valley? WEstern? and some of the others>

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009

Symmes Valley never seems to be short on athletes. However, their coach was the coach of year in the SOC1 last year. Is that because they won?

Re: Valley Indians 2008-2009!

No way Valley wins 75% of their games???

Oak Hill
Burg
Minford
Northwest

These teams right off the bat will be much stronger than Valley...regardless of how much they run.

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009

Interesting JV,

I was told that Symmes Valley lost 4 of 5 starters. I know they had an outstanding JV team, but Symmes Valley was lucky to get by the Eagles both games this year. I see the Eagles with at least a split with them this year as it is always difficult to play at Symmes Valley.

Are you picking Symmes Valley to finish ahead of Western and Eastern in the league?

Re: Jackson Ironmen 08-09

You need to have patience in Jackson l...You have to give Hurst more than a year to get his system in place before you hang the guy. Jackson had very little talent and that is the bottom line. It moved to Oak Hill. Jackson may have lost a few they could have won, but I think they won one (Minford) t...

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009

East lost Dickerson, Tyler Mault, and the Collins twins.

They should have their point guard back and the larger Mault kid...plus their JV team was very strong.

Wow, 90 views and no comment. No body willing to throw me a bone? I think Western will be tough again with Shanks, Smithson, and the point guard returning, but losing Kier will hurt them. Symmes Valley has a very talented JV group back. Green returns some solid talent, but yet to have a coach. New B...

Eastern Pike 08-09

How will the eagles do next season? I believe the squad has everyone back from last season, including Bryan Osborne who will likely be a 3rd year starter. However, last season was difficult for the young team as they finished only 4-16. Last season, guard play seemed to hamper the eagles all season ...
