Re: WK 8 Athens @ Nelsonville-York
I think 'BISH' secretly has a love affair with the 'DOGS - hence, the reason for his lack of optimism or predictions of a NY blowout ... TRIVIA QUESTION FOR 107.7; if they are looking for one on Friday ... lol What team did BISH help coach in 1993? Hint: It wasn't actually a schools 'team', but it d...

Re: WK 8 Athens @ Nelsonville-York
I don't think NY wins by as many as they want ... I like the Buckeyes, don't get me wrong. Arnold is a great RB and an even better kid - I got the chance to talk with him for a few at the Alexander volleyball invitational, and there are not many kids as nice and humble as Derek. As for the Bucks; I ...

Re: Athens beats Meigs in 5 games
'Dog 64 - Meigs is 14-3 overall and 7-2 in the TVC-Ohio now ... Athens is 10-7 and also 7-2 ... Both teams (If it really matters) still has to play the star studded Spartans one more time. The game was indeed a dandy, with Athens blasting the Marauders for a 2 games to 0 lead behind #6 Cindy Willis,...

Ironman92 - Im very disapointed in you son! Here ive been cuddling you and the other Ironfolk for years and then I have to take care of your boy, the young Wise-one, while he graces our good city of Atown ... Then you go and pull a 'Go Wellston stunt' ... What the heck man? You Jackson poeple, I tel...

Re: Week 6 is over - Nelsonville-York 1st; Athens in 2nd
91Buckeye - Probably nailed it on the head. Maybe the youth football program is doing well, that's awesome; But keeping them interested, getting them to the 9-12th grades without any politics or other outside influences will be, and has been, the problem. But you can always look at the bright side ....

Re: Week 6 is over - Nelsonville-York 1st; Athens in 2nd
To be winners, and to win consistently on a year-in-and-year-out basis - Ryan will need more boys though QUESTIONMARK. More boys that want to play football, more boys Ryan and the staff can mold into good, tough young men by the time they leave the program. Since their are 19 varsity sports and the ...

Re: Week 7 - Athens vs. Wellston
Ive seen both teams play ... Ive seen athens play every game via Nelsonville cable. I watched Wellston - NY, and ive seen all the teams that wellston has beat thus far. What i can say is this: Lockard is every bit as tough, maybe a little thicker and the speed is almost the same compared with Tope. ...

4 Horse - Your right, the Rockets are tough - they told me I was nuts when I made that comment, especially the fellar that seen em week 1 - but he's kinda of bias anyway ...lol Hoefully, I get to do the Athens-Wellston game Friday ... I tired of driving to Wellston, Fed Hock, Belpre, Fed Hock, Trimb...

Re: Week 6 is over - Nelsonville-York 1st; Athens in 2nd
Bucks 96 ... I definitly agree with that assesment. Right now, the Alex game seemed big and has been. But, that is because they were the worst teams in athens county doing battle over the past 15 years (minus 2002, 2003). If Ryan Adams can possibly turn the program around as much as it possibly can,...

Re: Week 6 is over - Nelsonville-York 1st; Athens in 2nd
I couldn't agree more 4-H ... By no means was I implying that both NY & Athens will still be 1st or 2nd when they play. I was down down at Wellston for the NY game and the Rockets gave the Bucks everything NY could handle and then some. When I got back to Athens, the first thing I said to a coup...

Week 6 is over - Nelsonville-York 1st; Athens in 2nd
You will see the all the area standings in the messenger sat. morning. Hard to believe 4 weeks ago that Athens would be in 2nd place in the TVC-Ohio. I was in Belpre Friday and the Buckeyes are just a bulldozing freight train. ARONLD is terrific, he runs past defenders, over them, through them and s...

Re: WK 6 Athens at Alexander
I agree with most of the comments; the game is a toss-up. Lawson, Chapman, Hedrick, Moritz ... they all can make plays. Harris, Tope, Heron, MCollum, Glass - They can also make a lot of plays happen. Best defense ON FRIDAY wins the game ... or maybe it comes down to special teams .... Or their are a...

Re: Alexander VS Athens
I hate to burst your bubble L-fan, but I have covered six or maybe even seven games this volleyball season for Athens and THEY DO NOT play a select number of juniors. Gracie Slayton - freshman, and she starts and plays a lot of minutes. Emily Fox is the libero and shes a senior. The core group of Ju...

Re: Alexander VS Athens
Athens has a fine coach; Kelly Dyer does a great job IMO. The fact is Alex is just on a different planet and if you think, or your parents think, you are gonna be a super star volleyball player and "can" send your kid to Alexander, then they just do it. It's a fact of life that everyone in...

Re: WK 6 Athens at Alexander
Bulldog0909 ... Alex did face a team that enjoys throwing the ball, the Trimble Tomcats in week 2 ... Trimble won 21-7. But Alexander is sort of an inegma; They win one week, lose the next. Beat Eastern week 1, then lose to Trimble, beat Unioto, lose to Belpre, beat Fed Hock ... "Hopefully lose...

I have seen almost all the teams play now and I would have to say:
1) ALEX - definitly!
2) Athens - (If they beat meigs at home coming up)
3) Meigs
4) Nelsonville
5) Trimble/Fed Hock/Eastern

Re: Volleyball; Trimble
Trimbles' record has not reflected it as of yet, but they are a very solid if not very good volleyball team ... I believe they got a late start and have not played as many games as others in the area. They have two tall girls up front, Hannah and Lenigar that can play and Katlyn Walton and I believe...

Re: WK 6 Athens at Alexander
Federal Hocking definitly 'shot themselves in the foot' last Friday; but, the Alexander D-line and head coach deserve some of that credit. After the game both coaches said "The Spartan defensive line did a nice job of shooting the gaps and caused some havoc in the backfield." For three str...

Re: WK 6 Athens at Alexander
After watching the Alex-fed Hock game friday, Athens better come to play up front or they might end up on the wrong end of the stick. Federal Hocking seemed to control the line of scrimmage Vs Athens and the Alex D-line really did a number on the Lancer offense. If Athens gets in the right mind set ...
