Re: An Early Look at the SEOAL: The 2008 Logan Chieftains

keeping it real - I don't think anyone but the coaches know for sure what they plan, but my guess is that Pat will see a much more limited role on defense no matter what position he plays. He is too good to see NO time at defense, but I think he will be used similar to Joey Conrad who played end and...

Re: Chillicothe 2008 football schedule

Cavs should be one of the top teams in the SEOAL along with Ironton and Logan in 2008. They return the bulk of a team that got stronger as the year went on last year. They have experience back ALL over the field. It will be interesting to see what they do on offense. CHS was obviously throwing the b...

Re: ODIE O'DONNELL Loses Battle With Cancer

RIP Odie.

It's a sad day for all of Southeastern Ohio with one of the last of the "old guard" of the SEOAL have moved on. My prayers go out to the O'Donnell and the Gallipolis community for the loss of a great man.

Re: Congrats to Chillicothe DIV II STATE CHAMPS!!!

CONGRATS TO THE CAVS!!!! 2old and I watched the Cavs win from section 313 this morning and were WOWED at the effort by the Cavs, especially from the middle of the third quarter on. They got Libby's best shot, because as Dave said, Buford stepped his game up, but in the end the Cavs made the big play...

schenk -

Thanks for shedding some light on the "facts" over in Tigertown. Sounds like it has been and will continue to be a wild off-season. It sounds like there are enough pieces in place to keep the kids involved between now and August.

Re: Warren Warrior Football 2008

Coach Schob would be a good addition to any coaching staff. He has a lot of enthusiasm for the game and I think he would be a great guy to help get out on to the field at Warren. Tough loss for Marietta if this ends up happening, but the Tigers loss is Warren's gain. Warren will continue to improve....

Re: Marietta Football 2008

Sounds like some big shake-ups over in Tigertown. If Schenkel is taking over for the Tigers I think it will be good news for the program. Spicer laid a solid foundation, but his teams could never seem to get over the "hump." This team has a lot of good skill players coming back. They have ...

Let's play two -

That's a pretty good list for that class. I can't remember, but I think Zach Woltz and Noah Bookman were also state wrestling qualifers, and if so, would deserve mention as well.

Hummel was elected by the "old-timers" committee. The other three were chosen among a list of 25 nominees. Tolliver was close this year, but fell just short. The list of 25 current nominees is pretty amazing.

Logan Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2008

The LHS Athletic Hall of Fame elected four new members, upping the Hall Of Fame's numbers to 128 members since the Hall of Fame began electing members in 1976. The new members are: JIM HUMMEL, Class of 1944 - Hummel was a 3-year lettermen and 4-year starter for the Chieftains from 1940-1943. Althoug...

Re: Re:

I'm not going to say I am good or anything, but I will say that Shane Porter was a good quarterback and look what he did against Logan. He was good and he didn't do anything special did he? Plus I believe it'd be harder to pass and get yards when teams know you're going to pass. When you have a run...

I think Logan will run more shotgun spread formations in 2008 with Patrick Angle and Clay Morgan in the backfield.

Maybe even some read option. The Chiefs are still going to run the football, but Patrick will give the Logan offense the opportunity for more diversity.
