Re: Meigs @ Warren 1/24
Look like the ref’s were on warren’s side also, not taking anything away from Warren, they have a good team, but come on ref’s Just stop. I don’t usually go to high school games and have no rooting interest, just wanted to watch a good game. The referee were fine nothing outrageous. Both teams playe...

Re: Marietta Scores 112!!!
Congrats to the Tigers for hitting the century mark! Coach G has built something special in Marietta. What an amazing accomplishment. Were you there to watch it Pioneer? I listened to some of it while I was watching another game. Brayden Jones scored 49 points on 13 threes, and sat out part of the ...

Re: Pressing Up 20+
This is where we are at now. Every game talked about on here someone is butt hurt. If your team lost it was because of something someone did, ref, coach etc. It wasnt because the other team was better. If you dont like a score then the other mean coach "ran" it up. If you lose by 50 or 60 ...

Re: Pressing Up 20+
I'm 100% ok with the winning team subbing in their JV players and letting them press if that is the main defense for their team, no place better to learn that actual game. Several reasons a team my still press when up 20 and the other team throws in the towel but personally I would not. Again, the ...

Something in the water out there. Football had a bunch of kids that did not come back out and now girls basketball. I believe it was both last years freshman class.

Re: ACT/Tournament game conflict
I don't see any conflict with the ACT Test Dates and Tourney. There is a potential problem with the SAT and the girls semi final. My suggestion is if you think your team is one of the elect few that can realistically make the semi finals that you pick one of the 3 before or the 2 after. Dates pulled...

Re: Expectations
You need to define "succeed". Win 15 games, conference champ, sectional or district champ.
No one should be under any pressure from what I have seen. How about this year we lets the coaches coach and the kids play. Enjoy the season, no one is winning them all.

Re: Belpre-here we go again
I hear you—it’s really frustrating when the administration drags their feet like this. I’ve been through similar situations where delays in hiring or leadership changes affect the team’s prep and morale. It sounds like the focus is more on internal politics than on getting things done for the kids....

Re: Seven Divisions Won't Change This Problem
All the teams already make the tournament so there will be a nearly identical amount of overall tournament games. Before you tell me I’m incorrect, I’ve counted the tournament games and done the math. Same amount of games means same amount of money. I disagree, it is potentially more money. There m...

Re: 3/4 Marietta v New Lexington
You need to play teams along the way that expose weaknesses, every team has them. This gives the kids a chance to see, understand what they need to get better at as the season goes along. You can be exposed by a bad team or good team, you might even win that game but you need to understand - did yo...

Re: 3/4 Marietta v New Lexington
Its a tough call on scheduling and who will play you. With the new RPI type seeding thing it appears that wins mean alot, much more than who you played. Its now becoming a two way problem. You need to schedule better teams but if those teams wont play you now for fear of loss then who are you to play.

Re: 1ST Big Upset of the Tournament!! Who's Next??
Waverly (with 4 Freshmen) played Warren very well for 3 quarters but wore down - Warren pulled away in the 4th. Jackson has a chance on the neutral court - must contain Saddleman. Actually Warren opened up a close game in the 3rd qtr (40-29) and finished it off in the 4th with another 10-0 run. Wav...

Re: 1ST Big Upset of the Tournament!! Who's Next??
Jackson over Warren??? I was really impressed with Jackson the other night against Vinton County. Can Coach Morrow rally his team and upset Warren? Or is Warren just too tough of a match up for them. Waverly (with 4 Freshmen) played Warren very well for 3 quarters but wore down - Warren pulled away...

Re: Warren 47 Logan 33 a final
No need for a shot clock. If one team would have to hold the ball for 4 qtrs to win then its the other teams fault for letting them do that. If you are that much better then you will probably force the pace of play. Heck even if you are only marginally better you can still force the pace of play.

Re: Sectional Final Vinton Co vs Jackson
Unfortunately for those kids, they could not find the bottom of the net last night, and give some credit to a Jackson squad that played as hard as I've witnessed a Jackson team play in a significant number of years. Those VC kids had one heck of a great run, and that's not coming from a VC fan. I t...
