Come on people...everyone that knows anything about basketball knew Webster was in for a rough year. With not much height and young players at key positions, this team was a 5-6 win team at best. But regardless, I'm proud of these kids for sticking it out through a rough season like this. For people...

You'd have to put 2004-05 season Webster/Burg game up there with the best of them. Seth Cowgill of Burg hits a 3-pointer at buzzer to beat Webster 56-55 after Nick Aldridge hit a long jumper to put the Jeeps ahead with about 5 seconds left in the game. Only regular season loss that year for the Jeep...

I really expected alot more from Waverly this year. Is it a problem of plenty of athletes but not enough basketball players? As for Oak Hill....these are the type of wins that'll come in handy come Regionals time. They likely won't be tested in the D4 tourney until that point, so some close games wo...

This game will be a good indicator of whether Webster will have a shot at making it to the Convo or not this year. We've seen that they just don't have the horses this year to compete with SOC II schools, now it's time to see how they fare against some of the SOC I schools with East, Clay and Green ...

orestes: great call....Kentucky and Arkansas were average teams that not only played well against LSU, but beat them. OSU is choking again...plain and simple. No reason to pin this debacle on the rest of the Big 10*

Tiger-Brother: I wish I knew the answer. Tressel is getting out-coached and out-schemed again this year. Can't blame it on the players' partying this year though.*

OSU (coaches included) is pi$$ing down their legs for a second straight year, that's what's wrong. From Ben Person getting pancaked on the blocked field goal to the defense getting ZERO pressure on Flynn...this is turning into another embarrassment. No deep threat at wideout and and below-average QB...

Itownhosscat: I was responding to caglewis calling out the title of my thread ("he can't be 'back to UC' since he never actually went there in the first place."). I was not responding to what he/she said about Aldridge.*

It'll be interesting to see whether Aldridge plays the 3 or 4 position for UC.

caglewis: lighten up scooter...I think everyone here is aware that Aldridge previuosly committed to UC.*

USC has no right to bitch about not being national champs after losing to STANFORD....AT HOME! That loss way way worse than anything OSU, LSU or Georgia had. I don't care what players were injured, they should have been able to beat Stanford with their second stringers. Keep crying USC....nobody but...

Nick Aldridge back to UC?

Cincinnati Enquirer (Bill Koch blog) reporting that Nick Aldridge will probably be transferring to UC, picking the Bearcats over Marshall. Apparently an announcement will come tomorrow. Like I've already said, I'd like to have seen what he could have done in a few years at Western Carolina. But eith...

Glad to see so many people on here that care for Webster basketball and the boys who show up to play every night from November through late February. I don't care if these boys go 0-21 every year, they should be respected and encouraged for the hard work and discipline it takes to commit to a sport ...

webstetown: I do agree with your point about junior high program at Webster. It seems to me that the varsity coach would want to take a hands on approach all the way down to the biddy league level. I don't see that happening at Webster, and never have in the past. I can think of several retired bask...

webstertown: I see where you're coming from, but what did you honestly expect from this team with a freshman and sophomore as your backcourt? Add on top of that the fact that it is the most balanced SOC II from top to bottom in probably the last 10 years, and it's a recipe for a 3-17 season. Part of...

Congrats to Northwest on the win. Webster is starting to play better basketball. It might not show up in the wins column, but if they play like that on a consistent basis, they'll be in most games from here on out. Keep your heads up and keep playing hard Jeeps...better days are ahead.*

Should be a great one tomorrow night at Burg. Webster has had a tough stretch with Oak Hill, Portsmouth, Minford and Burg all in the last 7 days. Before the season, I'd took 3-1 for that stretch in a heartbeat. But 4-0 would work also! Digger made a great point though. At some point (probably this g...

It sounds like a broken record, but West's size is going to cause Webster fits underneath. Webster won't have a chance in too many games this year if they allow more than 50pts. So I say play zone and make West beat you behind the arc (but get a body on the big boy when the shot goes up). It slows t...

Some of you Burg fans need to chill out. They've lost two games to two State-caliber teams in Oak Hill and Chillicothe. Is Burg as good this year as they have been the last two years? Nope....subtract a 6'8" D1 player from your roster and you're bound to take a step back. But they are still con...

One change affecting area D4 teams is that Columbus now has 2 teams at Regionals along with the 2 SEOhio teams. Going to make that Regional alot tougher as the teams from the Northern District the last few years have been pretty weak. Now this year, Africentric and Worthington Christian will both be...

Big early season win for the Jeeps. You knew Oak Hill would not be intimidated and they really showed up to play. It's good to see Cook and Cayton taking what the defenses give them and allowing the other to take over when they are getting keyed on like Cook was last night. Webster will only get bet...
