Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg

Was very impressed with Jackson…knew they’d be physical and athletic, but their basketball skill/iq was apparent as well. Point guard is a player, and supporting cast know their roles.

Overall fun game to watch between two solid teams*

Fenton must’ve went to the 1-3-2 after I logged off.
Huge road win for the Jeeps…keeps them right in the SOC III race*

Re: Burg B'ball Intro

Burgs not like many other schools in the area where they spend and focus on 1 sport to the decrement of the other sports How much have they spent on track then that is being addressed right now, run up by there He might as well swing by the new softball facility while he’s up there

Re: Waverly @ South Webstern 1/6/26

Jeeps will be alright...Waverly just a bad matchup for them (size/physicality going to cause them issues). They likely drop a few more league games, but that's expected in a tough SOC III. By end of season, still a District Championship-caliber team in D7*

Glad to see Berry getting more varsity time. Kid is too talented to be watching 3 quarters from the bench even if he is a freshman*

Burg 72 Valley 49 Impressive road win for the Pirates Really impressive win for Burg. Woodward has been a gamechanger for them with his defense and athleticism, and looked more comfortable on the offensive end last night as well. The seniors are playing with urgency this season which was expected. ...

Re: Ironton - In the OVC Driver's Seat

Ironton’s deficiencies were exposed by the Burg the other night. They lack fundamentals that are necessity with a high school program. They are not the top team in the region and certainly not the #2 ranked team in Ohio. Those ranking came out way too early with only a handful of games in so far. I...

Re: Portsmouth Trojans 2025-26

Wheelersburg won vs. Portsmouth for the 8th time in the last 9 games, as they bested the Trojans in a competitive game 73-63 @WHS. The Burg held a 34-22 lead at the half, but the Trojans rallied with some 3 point shooting to take a 3 point lead early in the 4th quarter. The Pirates responded by tak...

Re: Chesapeake @ Ironton 12-23-25

The Peake had shots but didn't go in that was what beat us. I'm sure that was part of it, but the other part is how Ironton's athleticism plays into that. Watched ironton/Webster and saw how Ironton defense just pestered Webster the entire game. Layne/Markel/Edwards aren't the biggest guys, but the...

Re: Burg Basketball

Not sure on on total wins with a tough nonconference schedule (Unioto, Chillicothe, Portsmouth, Ironton, Jackson, etc) and no off nights in SOC III. Will likely start slow due to football, but regardless, will be a team capable of winning D5 District Championship by end of season. Rucker one of best...

Re: Circleville 53 Minford 41 a final (Napkin Stats)

I have to give it to Minford; they've been competitive in all of their games so far this year. Great effort, and as this team grows, I can definitely see them having a good season within the next couple of years. No doubt...not many wins to show for, but new coaching staff at Minford has those kids...

2025-26 Boys Jr High Basketball Talk/Results

Who the teams in SEOhio to watch out for this season? Assume Valley in 8th grade after their undefeated season last year, along with Burg 7th (very deep roster). South Webster 8th and Minford 8th also had some talent from last season as well. Who else on the radar?*

South Point 49 Minford 37 Final When is the last time Minford scored this low?? Probably 4 years ago when Montgomery and Co. were freshmen in tourney loss to Burg. SOC III Minford: A lot of new faces for Minford this season after graduating one of the best senior classes to ever play at Minford along with Coach Shoemaker retiring. This will be a group that will defend every night and will get better as the season progresses. The big question for them is who w...

Re: JEEPS summer ball

swanker: hate to hear that about Stephens...he was in line for a big season after how he played down the stretch last year for Webster. Never a good time for an injury like that, but going into his senior year is absolutely brutal. Jeeps are gonna be thin in the frontcourt, but so is rest of SOC III...
