boilermaker, I'm with you. I also would like to see the Jackson-Wellston series end. Outside of money, I don't think either team gains much from playing the game. Sometimes people need to look past money and examine the entire picture. Good luck to the Rockets next season, except in Week 1, of cours...

ZV, I thought it was common knowledge that Zanesville would like to leave the SEOAL. Didn't you even say that Zanesville would be willing to join other leagues such as the MVL, OVAC, or ECOL if the opportunity presented itself? I guess maybe I might be confusing these things with some of the "w...

I expected them to leave because there were so many Ironton people against the idea. Since the first moment they were involved in SEOAL talk, it seemed like the majority of the people in Ironton didn't like the idea. There has been a lot of talk about them leaving over the last couple years since th...

Could this just be the tip of the iceberge? More schools to follow? There has been alot of talk for awhile among schools that the SEOAL would have a hard time keeping all the schools that were in it since the expansion. You might be surprised at who all is questioning it. At least Jackson was up fr...

10mike, I don't remember exactly, but I think it only affects Jackson and Chillicothe. The Ironmen and Cavs will be forced to play 7 SEOAL games while the other eight teams will play only 6 games. All the North teams will have to find replacements on their schedules with Athens leaving. Ironton, GAH...

I really hate to hear that Ryan is definitely not at Jackson now. He'll be missed. Ryan played OT/DE for the Ironmen last season. He was All-SEOAL and All-Southeast District Honorable Mention. He's about 6'2" 265lbs. and seemed to be very strong. He plays hard and really did a great job on both...

I haven't heard anything about Hughes moving yet, but it's possible. I really hope he didn't, though. He had a great season for the Ironmen last year and there were high expectations for him this coming season.

From what I've heard, Conroy is just taking some time away from football at this time. I don't know if he'll be coaching elsewhere anytime soon, but he hasn't actually retired for good.

2old, I agree that Wellston and VC will have better seasons next year, so that could help as long as the Ironmen win those games. A win over Waverly would be nice because I'm sure they'll have another good season even after losing a lot of seniors. I still don't know for sure if 8-2 will be good eno...

Yeah, I'm glad that we get Chillicothe, Logan, and Zanesville at home but it's going to be an extremely tough stretch to end the season with those three games plus Ironton in Week 7. Region 8 is a very tough region. Jackson still wouldn't have even been in the playoffs at 8-2 last season. If the Iro...

Unless something has changed, this should be the schedule for Jackson in 2008. At Wellston At Waverly Vinton Co. Portsmouth At Gallia Academy At Marietta At Ironton Chillicothe Logan Zanesville The schedule is going to be extremely difficult, espeically adding Logan and Zanesville to replace Athens ...

I think those lineups could be pretty close. Isn't Klingaman back this year? If so, he'll probably get some playing time at DE again. And I really don't think there's any way that Josh Brown will play ILB. He may play somewhere else on defense, but he might not play defense at all if he ends up bein...

At the time that Offsides posted, I don't think he had seen the D3 or D4 teams. I believe that's why he only recognized the players from the D2 SEOAL schools.

Congratulations to the other SEOAL players who made the teams as well.

Nice post. It's good to see that someone around here actually appreciates just how good Logan was this year. They dominated the SEOAL like nothing I have seen in my time watching SEOAL football and they'll definitely be remembered for that. They struggled defensively against Tri-Valley and it cost t...

Congrats to Tri-Valley on the win and good luck in the next round. Also, congrats to Logan on another great season. You guys have a lot to be proud of and it's scary to think about how good Logan should be next season. The diving TD catch by Luke Wright in the 4th quarter might be the greatest catch...

sports junkie, Logan might not even be playing Lake. If you would pay attention, you would see that if Massillon beats Canton McKinley today, Logan will get Tri-Valley rather than Lake. No matter who they play though, I think Logan is going to surprise a lot of people. A game against Lake will be to...
