Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

Only a few hours away from kickoff.. I look for this one to be a good game! The Tigers will be coming in as the underdog and hopefully they will use that as extra motivation. I know the boys will be hungry for a W, especially after taking a loss like they did last week. But they have nothing to be a...

That is huge for the Tigers! Idk if they are 100% or not, but with Jordan even being on the field offensively gives West another weapon to worry about.

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

What type of offense does West run? Idk if anyone has said on here before, I might have just missed it. I think I saw where someone had said they were more run than pass, but I'm not sure

Re: Waverly Basketball

Tbh. if you want my honest opinion. There is no way that waverly is even a contender to win the S.O.C. let alone have a chance at state. The person you are referring to saying that Waverly has a chance to make state is being a little silly I believe, considering the players he is mentioning do not ...

In both of Waverly's losses thus far, they have had less than 100 yards rushing.

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

I think the key for Waverly tonight is to get the run game going, if they are able to do that I don't think they will have a problem putting points on the board as long as they don't turn the ball over. If Kritzy is able to pick up good yards, it makes the RPO so hard to defend.

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

Who took his spot on offense and defense? Phoenix Wolf has stepped in and taken his spot on both sides of the ball I believe. Phoenix is a freshman, and is younger brother to Easton Wolf. Easton is a junior who can flat out play. And from what the Tiger faithful have seen of Phoenix so far the past...

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

I doubt it... I would be very surprised if so. Would love to see him be able to play tho, the kid is an athlete who gives Howell another great target to throw too. And he plays well at DB. Wish everyone could stay on topic.. this is dumb. There is a thread for that week 10 matchup, go there and argue all you want.

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

You're not going to keep waverly out of the end zone once unless they turn the ball over numerous times. They put 46 on Fairland, you let Fairland put 18 on you guys. Waverly is good enough to beat the West side. That was the first game of the year.Bud. Improvements have been made if you cannot tel...

Do any Waverly folks know if Kayne Jordan will be coming back this week? I heard there was a chance he might, but I didn't know how true that was. It would be nice to have him if so.

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

The QB is gonna be under pressure all night long with how weak the O-line is for waverly, west has one of the strongest and decently quick front 4. They are gonna beat them down on both sides of the ball, they'll be lucky to finish the game I'm going to have to agree with rollside1 100% Waverly doe...

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

I knew Fairland ran a similar offense to Waverly, that's why I asked. I didn't get to make it down to the Waverly/Fairland game, so I hadn't seen them in person. Waverly's offensive concept is centered around handing it to Kritzy on the inside zone and bubble screens, when both of these are clicking...

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

Was looking at West's scores to this point, and was just curious how Fairland was able to stay so close? I know it was week 1, so improvements and changes happen, was just a little surprised it was a 2 point game. What was it about Fairland that gave West fits?

Re: WK 8 SOC 2: Waverly (5-2) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

You have no clue about what you’re saying. 1. Saying coach Woodward is a punk is one of the dumbest statements ever. 2. Ed millers wife came up with the burgs the word slogan in the eighties 3. How about give the shoe back to the kid and ask him politely not to play near the bleachers instead of ho...
