Re: 2010 MARINE CORPS WRESTING CHALLENGE OH VS.WV

Next year you could invite 1st. all State placers, 2nd. State Qualifiers, 3rd. District Placers, 4th. District Records. Like Tric does for the SE all-Stars. Even if you had to bump up a state Placer or qualifier I'm sure you would be putting together a better team than years past. I get tired of he...

Re: I Proprose a SEOPS Get Together...

The Shingle can hold as many as you want to bring. They do have the beer garden for the over flow crowd don't you know? I think that is bordered by "Ron's Junk Yard" If I remember correctly. Haven't been through there in 20 years! My edit: and the Creek thing is funny as hell! How true! L...

Re: SEOAL 2010

As for Marietta I do believe they have an advantage as well, but they still must take advantage of it, which they have not. As I have said there are other factors that have go into this other than just size, but size is the biggest factor. What I’m saying is even if you get great participation, an...

Re: SEOAL 2010

Im just spitballing here, but if numbers is everything as everyone likes to slam Logan for having, and the other SEOAL schools are at a disadvantage to Logan because of their size, then howcum they dont dominate in basketball, baseball, and other sports like they do in football? Also if numbers is ...

Re: SEOAL 2010

Portsmouth and other schools offer different amounts, they might not be one who would raise divisions. I didn't really think it was enough of a difference myself. Just could see a "Sliver" of validity in the reasoning. I know it's not enough, and impossible to actually justify a change. Ju...

Re: SEOAL 2010

It is a good point that larger schools spread their athletes among secondary sports though. Soccer/Wrestling/ Football/B-ball or Baseball/Track etc. I remember when my wrestling team beat our league champion H.S. varsity basketball team in a "Conditioning" practice (overlapped scheduling) ...

Re: SEOAL 2010

Now we're talking the point I didn't make so clearly before. My bad. Although the County Districts (All 3 lol) have income/unemployment problems which at least equal the Also existent drug/etc. problems in both areas. There is no other way to make a more "fair" division, so we all have wha...

Re: SEOAL 2010

One of those factors works against Logan. As spread as the system is, it is more difficult for some to participate, get rides etc. and even requires a little more time than smaller districts or Those of the same size which are more densely populated. I don't know what that difference is, but I'm sur...

Re: SEOAL 2010

Oh, 22 if platooning, and that's w/o subs. A good D-4/(D-6 size) B-Ball school could put together 6-8 decent players a lot better than 20+ FB players. Makes sense to me. More teams, but also slightly less affected by size.

Re: SEOAL 2010

6 titles are due to depth More schools play basketball then football, yet they only have 4 divisions. There is more depth in basketball yet fewer divisions. Sorry this is a little late, but I just thought of it. Probably because 11 players require more depth and are affected more than only needing ...

Re: SEOAL 2010

Divisions may play a role in depth and opportunity in using key players ^^My 1st words. We agree to some extent, and You are right, Amanda shouldn't have to compete for the title against St. X. That's what I meant about rewarding champs based on size. However, in a good year they might like to test ...

Re: SEOAL 2010

Nope, just didn't want to make a 3 page post. I must have condensed it too much. I thought it was enough info to read the rest into it. Not. I don't enjoy insults, you know what I meant if you think about it. The "Big Picture" is being the best, and 6 titles are due to depth etc. as I stat...

Re: SEOAL 2010

I hate having this same argument every year but can someone explain to me why the OHSAA has divisions if enrollment isn't a factor? Divisions may play a role in depth and opportunity in using key players, but until they play at the top level, they must prove their worthiness. Also, the best teams p...

Re: Teams that have never won a league title...

I predict that Southern will win their first when this years 8th graders are in 11th grade. Then when they make the playoffs we will finally have a TVC team that can win a playoff game or two. Just wait and see what this coach can do. You will all be impressed. I promise. ^^^^^ FROM ABOVE^^^^^^ It t...

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?

Any of them who keep up on the boards (Here) to get player feeds/info. all know they don't have to offer, 'cause nobody else is. Hmm? Who's gonna bid full ride when there's not even a D-1 trip planned elsewhere? I didn't think of it before, but this thread could actually be hurting his chances. I ho...

Re: Logan Football Coach Resigns

With Dale's background as a lineman, I hope the attention to detail and the efficiency of the line don't decrease. Even in years when the size/athleticism was weak, the Logan line has been better than average. If the line is good enough, a 3 year old can run through the hole! Hehe. Good luck in your...

Re: SEOAL 2010

I agree that Logan will be down for not only next year, but for at least 3 years or more if I compare the recent 3 classes' "biddy years" to the upcoming. However, a good mix of classes not possible in the younger years, coaching, hard work by those kids, and a bit of luck makes H.S. Footb...

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?

If the above "quote" is true, then not one person in SE OH will go to a D-1 school. Since Logan did end up with the most computer points and have the toughest overall schedule in this part of the state. That would mean the TVC, the SEOAL and any other area League couldn't be recruited. Sin...

Re: Jackson @ Logan

I just have an interesting question to pose... I wonder how many basketball courts, or even Hoops per student there are in Logan, in a "walk-to" location, for most students as compared to a lot of places who excel in the sport? It doesn't seem to be a very high priority here, and the best ...
