Best Smallmouth baits?
In the streams I like using the Zoom 4" Lizard texas rigged. Usually watermelon seed. I also really like the rebel helgramite, although they're hard to find. They are simialr to the the rebel craw dads, but irresistable to small mouths. In the lakes like Dale Hollow, CUmberland and KY Lake, I u...

For Texas Rigging worms I like the Owner. For Texas rigging 4" lizards I like the Gamagatzu G-Lock or wide gap.

Any Smallmouth Fisherman out there?
Theres nothing like catching a bronzeback. Pound for pound, it has to be the most exciting freshwater fish to catch. When I lived outside of Wheeling I used to hit some of the tributaries of the the Ohio and caught some really nice smallmouth. Especially using ultra-light gear. the best thing about ...

Re: Just got in from Trout fishing
I miss living in Wv where they stocked the creeks every year. It always gave me a reason to get out early in the year before Smallmouth season started. I used to go over around Charles Town in the North Fork/South Branch of the Potomac and some other tributaries, like Shenandoah etc... Talk about so...

Re: Local players playing semi pro ball
OVC-do your coaches at Tech know you play on a semi-pro team? You better be very careful.I certainly wouldn't talk about it here. Karl-I hope you're being sarcastic. Good way to lose a scholarship.Heck, most college coaches cringe at the thought of their good players playing intramural sports like b...

Re: Morel Mushrooms
I'm a big time morel lover/hunter. I agree w/ Ozzie though, the last few years, especially since the big ice-storm in 03, they just havent been the same in the So. Ohio area anyway. Most of the woods were too full of brush and just too thick to hunt. Last year I was pretty successful in the Ross coun...

I'm sure Dick Tipton coaching there has a lot to do with the area kids going down there. There also may be a few Chillicothe boys heading down there.

Re: Will any of the area schools have girls playing football
My Sr year at Liberty Union, Millersport had a girl that played on the O-line. She was a big ole farm girl. We were very good that year and pretty big up front, so they didn't play here against our starters. We were up like 48-0 in the first half and they took us starters out. I'll never forget what...

HilltopKid Well im not sayin that that basil boy from chilli isnt good..but can you remeber two years ago Justin Mullins that was the jackson punter/kicker? Re: Who will be the Top QB's to watch in SE-OHIO in 2008?
Westbrook may be tall and skinny, but he really impressed me with the shots he took. Being a defensive line coacha nd seeing a kid with his stature, I thought we might be able to beat him up a little bit, but he proved me wrong. he might be tall and skinny, but he is tough. I do agree that a run gam...

Both teams will be solid. Your run game will be back to normal, which should be a nice battle, b/c our strength on defense should definitely be the front 5. Should be a good battle.

Re: What Teams Do You Think Will Be Top 5 In The S.E.O.A.L
21-7 is not that close and they were in scoring position late...taking a knee at the 4 yard line is what you do when the game is all but over. Those fumbles were part of the game......they don't make the game closer. Thank you Ironman92. JacksonI-I happened to be at the game to there BUD.Taking a k...

i think deff. Logan because they had great success and i think jackson, ironton, and porstmouth I dont see gallipolis or chillicothe making it considering jackson beat gallipolis last year and chilli just barely beat jackson last year because we all remember the huge up set the 05-06 season over chil...

Re: What Teams Do You Think Will Be Top 5 In The S.E.O.A.L
No particular order, although top 3 will be top CHS, LHS and GAHS Chillicothe -Sr class is loaded, w/ the top QB in the area and WR's have experience.Fr will be So's now and they are also loaded. The biggest factor IMO may be the Line. Should be one of the best OL/DL units in Southern Ohio.notice I s...

Re: Top defensive Linemen In 08
Im not going to mention any specifics, simply b/c I'm pretty close to that position at CHS , but there are 2 interior linemen at Chillicothe who I think are as good as they get at their particular spots. I've coached the D-line for 16 years and 7 of them at the D2 college level. So, i've either coach...

Re: Kickers and Punters in the area
Roback-punter, Waverly. Mullins-kicker, Jackson. Enough said. I'm not necessarily disagreeing w/ your picks, b/c it's really pretty hard tell, but have you seen or paid any attention to the Basil boy at Chilli? This kid is as good as it gets,as long as he doesn't get big headed from statements like...
