Re: Waterford vs Peebles

I like Waterford, but, I can't see them giving Peebles much trouble. My prediction is Peebles by about 17.

Re: Division 4 Sectional at Meigs

Prediction 1: Howie will stomp his way to another championship.

Prediction 2: Waterford will upset a couple of teams - but, not Trimble.

Re: Best basketball player in Southeast Ohio right now!?

Justice could not play at Xavier or Morehead, unless it would be as a spot player. He is an excellent small-school player. Not division 1. West Liberty was a good choice. He can be a standout at that level. How many small-school players do you know who starred on a division 1 power? Remember that th...

Re: Has the three pointer killed basketball?

"Outlawing the zone defense is a cop out for those who can't coach, in my opinion."

I will agree with that observation. There are times when the zone is the best defense for the situation.

Re: Has the three pointer killed basketball?

The three-pointer effectively took the science out of the game. They should offer a "four-pointer" if you make one from behind the center line. That would finish the game off, for good.

Re: Coach Howie Caldwell

If he wants to coach at school A, and the board wants to hire him, who the H***'s business is it? I don't imagine he gives a rat's a** whether you like him or not. The guy has been an outstanding coach for years, and is STILL an outstanding coach. It is nobody's business WHERE he coaches.

Yeah. You would get the impression that Peebles doesn't graciously run plays for Justice to score.

Re: Best pure shooter from this area???

Also, Dante Jackson, from McClain, was a better all-around player than Justice, but, not a better shooter. Jackson was a good shooter, but Justice is better. Either of them could play for me, any day.

Re: Best pure shooter from this area???

Phil Snow from Sabina was the best high school shooter in this area that I have ever seen. A twenty footer was the same as a layup, for him. Aside from him, I thought R.J. Beuclar, from Eastern Brown was the best. He tore the Convo up his senior year. His shooting range was unbelievable. I liked the...

Re: Oak hill@Minford 1/13

Some of the greatest coaches I have ever known were given to rather salty language. I don't really approve of it, and I never did it. But, that doesn't detract from their coaching. As someone said, "Many of their players love and respect them for years and years." I still respect my high s...

I was wondering who Athens posters would blame first, coach Skinner or the refs. Looks like the refs win it!
Skinner will be next. Does anybody ever lose because the other team was better?

Lots of people are jealous of the great coaches. It never fails. Norm just outcoaches them, year in and year out.

Actually, "hundreds" not "dozens". If we were really brilliant, we would know as much about basketball as they do.
