This week, My phone went dead and I had to contact the telephone repair people. They promised to be out between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. When I asked if they could give me a smaller time window, the pleasant gentleman asked, "Would you like us to call you before we come?" I replied that I ...

That must have taken a lot of hard work.

A couple of things I noticed:

With Ironton missing the playoffs in 2007, and Moeller making it, Ironton is now 3rd in all-time playoff appearances behind Newark Catholic and Moeller.

And it was a D III title that Ironton won in 1989 rather than D IV.

I think the 598-302-44 stat for Ironton is through the 2006 season According to Ironton Football Dot Com, Ironton got win number 600 all-time vs. Jackson this past season; if accurate, that would mean Ironton now has a total of 603 wins all-time, rather than 598. And Ironton's overall record would b...

Congratulations to Coldwater.

Bad fortune on Mooney's part that McCarthy couldn't play, but injuries are a part of the game.

... I really wish there would have been some way to renovate it. I think there was. An article appeared in the Herald-Dispatch on Saturday, April 22, 2006, entitled "Ironton's historic schools must be preserved for future"; written by Royce A. Yeater, Midwest director of the National Trus...

You betcha! Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominos; plus solo work and time with some more-or-less obscure other bands... great stuff!

My favorite Classic Rock bands are The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Blue Öyster Cult, Queen, Styx, Steve Miller Band, Yes, and Grand Funk Railroad. I'm probably missing a few good ones. One of my favorite classic rock songs is Never Been Any Reason by Head East. Pretty good list t...
