Seems to me that this is the closest these two teams have been in several years. Fort Frye better take care of the ball this week. It should be a great game.

I agree with not blaming the coaches. but like you said above, if the DE's are playing outside the OT's, why not call runs in the 4 & 5 gaps. or on 3rd and short run QB sneeks. And if its because Spencer can't run between the takles give the ball to Max. Or line up in the Florida Tim Tebow shal...

The Cadets weren't too bad last night. I don't know anything about Paint Valley, but it sounds like this year's Belpre team is a lot like last year's Belpre team.

River prepared well and didn't make any mistakes. Fort Frye has some good athletes and should be fun to watch throughout the year.

I'm looking forward to seeing The Cadets for this first time in a long time, but this is the same kind of preseason talk we've been hearing for a few years now. I'm glad there are at least a few kids that want to play and hope they'll understand that it's a year-round commitment.

All 3 have a good history with the program. It will be a tough choice between them.

I hope the community will be patient with whoever gets the job. If you take a look at the other high schools in the area, you will see that a coach like Coach Liedtke is a rare commodity.

It is a frustration to have to drive so far. It doesn't change the world, but a closer location would be very nice.

They split in the regular season, and the OVAC game was decided at the last second. If Monroe Central evens the score here, which team would have the better bragging rights? Winning the OVAC tourney or winning the sectional title?

I feel like Meadowbrook is a good example of a gym where they struggle.

For this team . . . I haven't seen them this year and barely even remember most of these guys as jayvee players, so I don't have much of consequence to add. Good luck Cadets!

I've seen a whole lot of close scores and "our girls didn't play their best" kind of updates on here the last month+, so if they get a chance to loosen up and play an "ugly" game, that will be fantastic.

Hmmmmmmm, I haven't seen either team play in a couple of years, but I don't really like Fort Frye on a neutral floor against a big team. They can neutralize bigger teams by outshooting them, but they're pretty streaky in gyms like OUE

Dear Lady Eagles: You are very good and you are very young. Now you know that, in the future, you will need to play 10+ points better than the other team, because at some schools, the home court advantage is worth that much. By now, you know where those schools are.
