Just heard that Fort Frye won in a close game at home to advance to the conference finals

IMO - Over the course of the last 20 years, Fort Frye has been better more often. They only played each other at the low point in Coach Liedtke's tenure. I haven't seen the Cadets this year, but they don't sound like the kind of team that can "play up" a division successfully.

Over the course of a 20 game schedule, off nights and bad things happen. The loss at MC sounds like one of those nights. Adversity is good for a team.

I just got the report from my sister that Fort Frye beat the Lady Seminoles 51-27. Score was 9-0 at the end of the first quarter. Glad to see our girls get back on their game

I'm seeing a lot of lower scores in the games, as well as "we didn't play well" type of comments. Hope they can be patient and work through the rough spots.

I agree. The OVAC doesn't come into play until late in the season, but it's a fun concept and a pretty big deal to win.

It's all well and good to criticize the schedule after it's been made, but those big time matchups don't get made on potential. In other words, this team is making a name for itself now, and if the coaches want, they have a couple of years ramp up the schedule after this group builds its reputation.

EDSpy, there was a time when every Fort Frye girls' game was at least this lopsided, so this is not the most dominant Fort Frye team in history. I will agree that this team is dominating better competition than earlier teams.

Thanks for the updates Rick. They don't publish Fort Frye scores here in Manila. Suprisingly nothing on the Marietta Times' website about the game with Waterford. I won't get to see this group of girls until next year, so I appreciate all the play by play
